Netflix Tv Series in August 2023: Here What Coming In the Month of August
As our special on the collapse of The Witcher attests, the debate over the quality of this adaptation is raging, but it is also important to look at the other series that graces the Netflix catalog, especially considering that there is also some big news coming next month. Among these, the live-action adaptation of One Piece immediately catches the eye, a work that boasts a solid and vast community ready to pour into this series as well. Having so much attention, the misstep risks being around the corner, and for this reason, we are curious to find out if Netflix has managed to bring One Piece to our screens convincingly. Among the other releases, we point out Ragnarok Season 3 and The Chosen One, for an August of great depth which, as usual, will include many new arrivals ready to enrich the platform’s catalog.
It’s less and less until the beginning of August 2023 but we like to move early and already take a look at next month’s Netflix releases. What will be the stories that will accompany us on television evenings next month? What should we expect from this August 2023 in terms of TV series? We already anticipate that next month there will be many new features and some of the most awaited series of the year will be released. Which? Let’s start with The Lincoln Lawyer Season 2 – Part 2 and not to be missed is also the second season of Heartstopper which returns to tell one of the most romantic love stories on the small screen, the one between Nick and Charlie, then, again in August 2023, the new film with Gal Gadot, Heart of Stone, is also released and, the most anticipated title of all is the live action inspired by one of the most famous manga of all time, One Piece . But let’s go into more detail to find out what awaits us in this August 2023 in terms of TV series.
The Chosen One Season 1 (August 16, 2023)
Adapted from the comic book American Jesus by Mark Millar and Peter Gross, Jodie stars a 12-year-old boy who suddenly discovers he possesses Jesus-like powers. The various religious communities begin to surround the young man to make sure that he uses his abilities for the good of humanity, but despite the many pressures, Jodie simply wants to impress the girl he likes. An important discovery regarding the boy’s true identity will take Jodie’s life towards a decisive turning point, and the latter will therefore have to accept his fate, for a live-action directed by Everado Gout.
Ragnarok Season 3 (August 24, 2023)
The first season of the series had convinced us, but despite the success, the time has come to say goodbye, and Ragnarok will end after this third block of episodes. As for the main story, Magne (David Stakston) will have to face an ancient enemy who could destroy everything, in a third season that seems to be crackling and full of clashes, while in the background the earth and humanity risk definitive collapse in the face of a threat against which they can do nothing.
One Piece Season 1 (August 31, 2023)
When it comes to live action, we enter thorny territory, and if we think of other Netflix experiments such as Cowboy Bebop (of which you can read the Cowboy Bebop review), then the doubts increase even more. Furthermore, considering One Piece’s huge fan base, it doesn’t take much to create an echo of disappointment and bitterness that could bury the project, and for this, we are facing an adaptation that will be far from simple. The One-Piece trailer has certainly aroused mixed reactions, for a title that next month will have to try to get off on the right foot immediately. In August, the spotlights will therefore all be focused on this live action, and for our part, we hope that the great expectation that has arisen in recent months does not go against a result below expectations that would interrupt the journey of the Straw Hat and its iconic crew.
All Other Netflix Series From August 2023
Heartstopper is a British series written and conceived by Alice Oseman which draws inspiration from the novels of the same name, and centers on Nick Nelson (played by Kit Connor) and Charlie Spring (Joe Locke), both enrolled in the same school. After the meeting, the two begin a relationship which, as we wrote in the Heartstopper review, works and excites, even despite a not-exactly-original script. What is most striking is the functional and enveloping direction of Euros Lyn, and for this reason, we hope that the artistic direction will continue to be excellent in the new episodes, perhaps offering something more from a narrative point of view.
The Lincoln Lawyer Season 2 – Part 2 (August 3, 2023)
The season finale of The Lincoln Lawyer is on its way, and next month we can find out how Mickey Haller’s (Manuel Garcia-Rulfo) journey unfolds.
