Netflix Tudum 2025: Trailers, Surprises and the End of the Binge-Watching Era
After a time when competition seemed to question his throne, the Netflix Tudum 2025 reaffirmed Netflix as the undisputed ruler of streaming. The event, broadcast live for the first time on the platform, took place on May 31 at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles. Conducted by Sofia Carson, it has alternated exclusive trailers, live performances, and announcements that clearly outline the future of the platform. Netflix has not only presented content: it has built a spectacular event that blends show business and pop culture, with Hanuman kind and Lady Gaga as a musical frame. A strategic move that confirms that Netflix is no longer just an entertainment service, but a cultural ecosystem capable of self-celebrating with lucidity and vision.

Netflix Tudum 2025: Trailers, Surprises and the End of the Binge-Watching Era
Tudum is a global LIVE Netflix event for fans, which takes its name from the iconic sound heard at the beginning of each Netflix movie, TV series, or event. It is the biggest celebration dedicated to Netflix fans and the stories that mark culture, highlighting films, TV series, stars, and creators loved by fans all over the world. The first Tudum event was held in January 2020 at the pavilion of the São Paulo Biennale, in Brazil, as a multi-title festival that paid tribute to Netflix content for children, attracting more than 50,000 fans in four days. Since then, Tudum has taken various forms, including festivals, live streaming, and digital almanac, consolidating itself as a global author event. In 2023, Tudum returned to Sao Paulo, attracting over 35,000 participants in person and registering more than 78 million views on Netflix’s global social channels.
Stranger Things Season 5: The Final Epic In Three Acts
The last season of Stranger Things will come in three parts: Volume 1 on November 26, Volume 2 on December 25, and the grand finale on December 31, 2025. Set in the autumn of 1987, the story resumes with Hawkins under military quarantine, and Vecna has disappeared, while Eleven is again forced into hiding. The protagonists come together to face an enemy who seems more absent than ever, but for this reason, even more disturbing. The teaser screened at the Tudum retraced some iconic moments of the series, paving the way for new sequences with a decidedly darker tone.
There is a return to the horror elements, to the psychological tension, to the sense of loss, and to the nostalgia that have made the series unique since its debut in 2016. The division into three parts is not only a narrative choice but a strategic change: Netflix no longer focuses on pure binge-watching but on a serialized and shared experience, with growing expectations, discussions, and hype. The Stranger Things ending, therefore, will not only be a conclusion, but a collective event.
Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery
The third chapter of the saga Knives Out will debut on December 12, 2025. Wake Up Dead Man, directed by Rian Johnson, will once again bring detective Benoit Blanc, played by Daniel Craig, to the screen. This time, however, the mystery will be darker and more dangerous, as underlined by the same protagonist in the teaser.
With a stellar cast that includes Josh O’Connor, Glenn Close, Mila Kunis, Jeremy Renner, Kerry Washington, and Andrew Scott, the film promises to raise the bar of the crime-pop narrative, continuing the vein of yellows that Netflix has been able to make accessible to a global audience.
Squid Game Season 3: The Final Game Begins
On June 27, 2025, the highly anticipated final season of Squid Game. The trailer shown at the Tudum reveals a Gi-hun in full existential crisis, determined to avenge what happened, but increasingly immersed in a spiral of despair and search for meaning.
The creator, Hwang Dong-hyuk, said that the focus will be on the possibility for the protagonist to redeem himself and demonstrate that human values are not completely lost. A very strong theme, which confirms the will of the series to close, leaving its mark also on an ethical and social level.
Wednesday Season 2: First Six Minutes and Lady Gaga
Great enthusiasm also for Wednesday Season 2, anticipated with the first six minutes projected during the Tudum. The tone is more mature, gothic, and close to the psychological thrillers of the ’90s. Wednesday (Jenna Ortega) is involved in a mysterious case of serial killings, with darker atmospheres than in the first season.
But the real twist was the announcement of Lady Gaga’s participation in the role of Professor Rosaline Rotwood, the new teacher of the Nevermore Academy. He is an enigmatic and legendary character, whose relationship with Wednesday promises to be central. With a narration divided into two parts (6 August and 3 September), Netflix confirms the farewell to distribution “all and immediately”, preferring to keep the attention high and encourage the conversation between fans, week after week.
Happy Gilmore 2: Nostalgia and Irony
Adam Sandler returns as Happy Gilmore on July 25, 2025, almost 30 years after the original. The cast mixes old acquaintances and new faces, including famous golfers such as Rory McIlroy. Netflix focuses on the nostalgic appeal, but updates the formula with a more current and aware comedy. It is the model of intelligent “sequels” that speaks to both boomers and Gen Z.
Frankenstein
The new Frankenstein, signed by Guillermo del Toro, will arrive on Netflix in November 2025. The Oscar-winning director returns to the Gothic and visionary atmospheres that made him famous, flanked by an exceptional cast: Oscar Isaac will be Victor Frankenstein, Jacob Elordi the Creature.
The teaser shown at the Tudum was one of the most applauded moments: dreamlike sequences, decadent aesthetics, powerful symbolism. Del Toro promises a non-canonical adaptation, more lyrical than narrative, where the myth of creation is intertwined with that of abandonment. Netflix points here to something more than the blockbuster: an authorial work designed for festivals, but accessible to all.
One Piece Season 2: The New Chopper
The second live-action season of One Piece, scheduled for 2026, revealed the entrance of the tender (but suspicious) doctor Chopper, made with a combination of CGI and motion capture and voiced by Mikaela Hoover. A taste that impressed fans of the anime, confirming the ambition of the project to become a long-term saga.
The Rip: Author Detective with Damon and Affleck
Directed by Joe Carnahan, The Rip will be released on January 16, 2026. Set in Miami, it tells a story of police, corruption, and loyalty, starring Matt Damon and Ben Affleck. It is the type of film that Netflix has taken over: medium-high budget, big names, international appeal. A move that marks the desire to compete with traditional cinema even outside the theaters.
