Morbius Ending Explained: The Doctor Strange Spell In Sky? Vulture and Morbius Meeting? Vulture New Suit

After a marathon wait Morbius the new Marvel movie starring Jared Leto, has finally arrived in theaters and it’s time to talk about everything that the outcome and the post-credits scenes of the first Marvel production left us on the big screen in 2022. Warning: This note contains multiple spoilers and if you haven’t seen the movie, we recommend you come back when you have.

The Sony Universe of Spider-Man has a new member in its ranks, in the case of Morbius, the living vampire, who makes his debut on the big screen, and whose end could leave some doubts. The film follows the story of Michael Morbius, played by Jared Leto, who has a strange disease, for which he seeks a cure by investigating vampire bats. After finding an apparent solution to his illness, the scientist undergoes changes that transform him into a living vampire. As we mentioned, Michael Morbius tries to discover a cure for the illness he suffers from, which also affects his childhood friend Lucien, who is nicknamed Milo, who has financed his research.

Morbius Ending Explained: The Doctor Strange Spell In Sky?

Much was said about the changes that Morbius suffered because of the success of Spider-Man: No Way Home, since there were rumors that in the final version of the film all mention or reference to the arachnid had been eliminated and that is true until certain point. During the entire film, Spider-Man is not talked about at all and even the scene that we saw in the trailers where Morbius walks next to a poster of the wall-crawler with the legend murderer was eliminated.

However, in the first post-credits scene, we see the first connection with the Marvel Cinematic Universe, since the rupture of the multiverse generated by Doctor Strange’s spell in No Way Home appears in the sky and that leads to the arrival of Adrien Tomes (Vulture) to the universe where Morbius and Tom Hardy ‘s Venom live. Why does Tomes come to this universe? The answer could lie in the imbalance that Strange generated in the film starring Tom Holland and in the consequences of his actions that we will see in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

The second post-credits scene is even more confusing, ambiguous and is the one that generates the most doubts, since we see the first meeting between Morbius and Vulture, who surprisingly already has a new suit, the latter proposes to the vampire to make an alliance and face to Spider-Man. What version of Spider-Man will we see to face these villains? That’s still an unsolved mystery, since as we mentioned, the deleted scene where we saw a Spider-Man poster on the streets of New York pointed to being the Tobey Maguire version, but nothing is confirmed. In addition, this scene leaves more questions than certainties, for example, despite living in New York, Morbius he seems to have no idea of ​​the arachnid’s existence until the Vulture mentions it so he would have no “reason” to confront it.

Now where did the Vulture get his new suit? Recall that in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Tomes created his suit from Chitauri technology left behind in New York after the 2012 invasion in Avengers. How did he rebuild his suit if that technology didn’t exist in the Morbius universe? Tomes arrived in that literal universe with no belongings, no criminal record, and apparently the Oscorp corporation doesn’t exist either. Perhaps that answer will be given in one of the next Sony and Marvel projects, since we do not know how much time passed between his arrival on this earth until his encounter with the vampire or it simply does not make sense and is a script error, since In November 2021, Michael Keaton shared on The Jimmy Kimmel Show that he was about to shoot new scenes for Morbius.

Is the Vulture preparing the Sinister Six? It could be a possibility, although Morbius is not a character that has been part of the lineup of this iconic group of villains. It’s also clear that plans have changed at Sony following the success of Spider-Man No Way Home with the return of Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. It seems imminent that we will see them again in their respective roles, however, the question is when, since the future is uncertain for project Madame Web, Venom 3 and Kraven the Hunter. Amending Mistakes

With the cure found Morbius develops a kind of vampirism, causing him an uncontrollable thirst that he satisfies with artificial blood, but Lucien finds the apparent cure, which he injects himself with, turning him into a vampire as well. The difference between Morbius and Lucien is that the Nobel Prize winner does not wish to murder his victims, which Lucien does. This conflict between Morbius and Lucien, which landed Michael in jail, leads the doctor to get a lab to develop a cure for vampirism and stop Lucien.

What Makes The Antihero

The picture is complicated when Martina Bancroft dies at the hands of Lucien, something that leads Michael to seek to save her with his blood, something that apparently fails, so the living vampire feeds on Bancroft’s blood to take revenge on Lucien. At an abandoned station Morbius and Lucien meet to fight to the death, with Lucien’s apparent advantage consuming human and not artificial blood, which previously sparked a series of murders.

Morbius manages to take advantage of his echolocation senses and command of sound echoes to summon a swarm of bats, with which he keeps Lucien at bay, so that Morbius injects the cure for vampirism. Milo is killed and Morbius escapes with the help of the bats. While the police search for who caused the chaos that left several dead, the living vampire flees the scene, while Martina revives, apparently with powers similar to those of Morbius.

An anti-hero is joining Sony’s Spider-Man Universe, which could lead to a future showdown between Spidey and Morbius.
