Midnight Mass: Netflix Horror Series Release Date and Story Plot Everything We Know So Far

Midnight Mass: The Brutal Series From The Creator Of Haunting Of Hill House

Midnight Mass is the new horror series from the creators of The Haunting of Hill House and The Haunting of Bly Manor. It is not a new part of the haunted house anthology, but it is a new story that will undoubtedly leave more than one sleepless. The series, according to Netflix, takes us to Crockett Island, an isolated island community that experiences a series of miraculous events after the arrival of a charismatic and mysterious young priest, which also provokes some terrifying omens.

Midnight Mass

Mike Flanagan, mind twisted behind The Haunting of Hill House and adaptations of the novels of Stephen King, as Doctor Sleep, and proved to be one of the new geniuses of terror and, after the success of their series with Netflix and film, announced that Midnight Mass would be a different project, where the level of terror was going to increase. Midnight Mass had already appeared as a reference in the movie Gerald’s Game (which you can also find on Netflix) and Hush, and when a fan asked Flanagan if the new series will be based on the same book that appears there, he replied “The very same.”

Midnight Mass: The Trailer

The first glimpse of Midnight Mass takes us to a mysterious island where everything seems darker than normal (even the rain or the church), it is there where inexplicable things begin to happen, plus a few of the inhabitants seem to be having visions mysterious that they cannot explain.

It is clear that here they hide a secret and that the religious community seems to be a kind of cult, but they themselves do not understand what is happening to them, or if all this is the work of someone who wants to play with their minds. There are no haunted houses, but you don’t need it when you have an entire island experiencing scary things. The isolation of the island is especially important to create the atmosphere of despair in the series, and that’s something that Flanagan does very well.

Midnight Mass: When it Release?

The series was announced at the same time as The Haunting of Bly Manor but was delayed by the pandemic, so we are going to watch it until September 24, 2021  on Netflix.

Midnight Mass: What is Plot About?

In Hush you can see some details, the phrase appears “but Crockett’s 512 souls … the church put Riley face to face with a terrifying secret”, does not say much, but we can assume that nothing good will happen in that place. The series will have 7 chapters in which we will learn more about the island and the mysterious priest who causes problems.

IMDb also anticipated the producers with a synopsis that reads “An isolated island community experiences miraculous events, and terrifying omens, after the arrival of a charismatic and mysterious young priest.”

Midnight Mass: The Cast

The series has no connection to Flanagan’s previous two, but many of its actors are here as well (plus there are many elements that Flanagan took from the Stephen King novels to create his story).
