Marakkar: Mahanlal’s Film Postponed Here is New Release Date
Marakkar Arabikadalinte Simham release postponed: Priyadarshan-Mohanlal team’s long awaited movie ‘Marakkar: The Lion of the Arabian Sea’. The release of the film, which was scheduled to hit theaters on May 13, has been postponed in the wake of the covid expansion.

The audience was eagerly waiting for the film which won the National Award for Best Picture. Meanwhile, the second phase of the covid gained strength and the covid cases became widespread. The release has been postponed in view of this situation. The film all set to release on 12th August 2021.
‘Marakkar-The Lion of the Arabian Sea‘ is the highest grossing film in Malayalam. It is reported that the production cost of the film is Rs 100 crore. Apart from Mohanlal, the film also stars Malayalam actors Prabhu Ganesan from Tamil Nadu and Sunil Shetty from Bollywood. In addition to Malayalam, ‘Marakkar’ will be released in Hindi, Telugu, Tamil and Kannada. The film tells the story of Kunjali Marakkar, the naval chief of the Zamorin dynasty. The film stars Mohanlal in the title role and also stars Arjun Sarja, Manju Warrier, Keerthi Suresh and Madhu. Kalyani Priyadarshan, daughter of Pranav Mohanlal and Priyadarshan and Lizzy, is in cameo roles in the film.
This big budget film is produced by Antony Perumbavoor, CJ Roy and Santosh Kuruvila. The cinematography is by Thiruvu, the art direction is by Sabu Cyril, the music is by Ronnie Raphael and the background music is by Rahul Raj.
