Manifest Season 4: Release Date and Wiki What We Know So Far About The Fourth And Final Season Of The Series Coming To Netflix
The expectation is growing for the fourth and final season of Manifest, the series created by Jeff Rake, which will arrive in streaming on Netflix. Here's what we know about the show's plot, cast, and release date.
One of the most successful series of recent years, Manifest, is finally about to return with its fourth season which will be broadcast exclusively on Netflix. After the NBC leaders had surprisingly canceled the show at the end of season 3, the American streaming giant has decided to save the series.
Definitely convincing Netflix was the incredible success obtained in the United States and in the world by the previous seasons of Manifest, present in the catalog of the well-known platform. Conceived and written by Jeff Rake in collaboration with Robert Zemeckis, the supernatural series follows the events of Montego Air Flight 828 from Jamaica to New York City.
When the plane lands, after a trip with various turbulence, the 191 passengers and crew members discover that five and a half years have passed since their departure and during this period it was assumed that they were all dead. After returning, the passengers attempt to rejoin society and resume their lives, but things have now changed, and so have the people they love. In addition, each of them begins to have visions and to hear strange voices representing events that have yet to happen and which are referred to as “calls“. Passengers will find themselves facing and solving a mystery on which not only their own lives but those of all depend.
Manifest season 3 ended with several shocking cliffhangers that left audiences with many questions. Grace Stone (Athena Karkanis) is apparently dead after a fight with Angelina (Holly Taylor) and the latter has kidnapped Eden, the daughter of Grace and Ben (Josh Dallas). Meanwhile, the couple’s other son, Cal (Jack Messina), after disappearing when he hit the tail of the 828 plane, has returned in the guise of a teenager (Ty Doran).
Furthermore, the love triangle between Michaela Stone (Melissa Roxburgh), Zeke (Matt Long) and Jared (JR Ramirez) seems to have reignited, creating new jealousies and tensions between the three protagonists. But that’s not all the final sequence of the third season gives viewers yet another twist.
In the final minutes, in fact, we see Dr. Gupta intent on leaving the headquarters of the Eureka Project, when suddenly Captain Daly reappears in the cockpit of the reconstructed plane. However, a few moments later, he disappears again and with him the plane also vanishes into thin air. Previously the captain had been presumed dead, after he had decided to fly back into a terrible storm, to prove that that was the cause of the disappearance of Flight 828.
The season 3 finale really left a lot of questions open: Why did Cal reappear aged and where was he when he disappeared? Is Grace Really Dead? And what do the calls really mean? Let’s find out now everything we know about the fourth and final season of Manifest.
The Plot Of Manifest 4
No details regarding the plot of Manifest 4 have been released at the moment, but it is very likely that another time jump will occur. This will allow the series to move closer to the death date of the passengers on Flight 828, which is regarded as the natural “endpoint” of the show. Season 4 of Manifest is sure to address the aftermath of Grace’s “supposed” death, what Angelina did with Olive and Eden, and Cal’s sudden growth. Meanwhile, Ben, struck by the enormous family tragedy, will have to manage to guide the other passengers to figure out how to save their “lifeboat”.
What we know for sure is that the fourth and final season will consist of 20 episodes, a fairly high number compared to other Netflix productions. Manifest was originally supposed to have a story arc that would have unfolded over six seasons. However, according to the creator of the show Jeff Rake, the number of episodes of Manifest 4 will be sufficient to end the plot in the best possible way. These are the words of the creator released in an interview with Entertainment Weekly:
“The good news is that I’m absolutely confident that 20 episodes will give me enough time to tell the whole story the way I’ve always wanted. I have a roadmap with a series of twists to tell the core stories within our mythology and within our relationship drama. So it won’t be a very difficult exercise to superimpose the exact same 20-episode roadmap. It will be quite organic ”.
The Cast Of Actors Manifest
The cast of Manifest season 4 will see the return of nearly all of the show’s main characters. Josh Dallas, Melissa Roxburgh, Parveen Kaur and JR Ramirez (Jared) will all return to their respective starring roles. It is also known that Matt Long will resume playing Zeke, while Ty Doran will return to play the teenage version of Cal.
Fans should also expect to see Luna Blaise again as Olive Stone, Holly Taylor as Angelina Meyer, Frank Deal as Captain Daly and Daryl Edward as Robert Vance. According to some indiscretions then, Manifest 4 could also bring back in the cast some of the protagonists of the past seasons.
When Manifest Season 4 Will Release on Netflix?
Manifest 4, as we know, will arrive in streaming on Netflix. However, the American giant has not yet announced the official release date of the series. Filming for the last season began in November 2021 and will likely continue for several weeks.
Fans of the show will therefore have to wait even longer before seeing the new episodes. Finally, Netflix could decide to apply the two-part release strategy and for this reason Manifest 4 could debut on the platform at the end of 2022, with the remaining 10 episodes arriving instead in the spring of 2023.
