Made in Heaven Season 2 now available on OTT platform Amazon Prime Video, has been released. Like the first season, in this season the makers have tried to talk about different issues. But the special thing about Made in Heaven Season 2 is that the story of each episode of this season has been woven around women and the LGBTQ community. The issue of women and the LGBTQ community was raised in every episode. But the question arises whether season 2 is as interesting as season 1. In Made in Heaven, relationships are shown not by underlining them, but by making them part of society. Because in this the makers neither did anything to teach nor to exploit. This was told to us by Vasan Bala, the director who made Monica O My Darling. Made in Heaven Season 2 has also arrived and we have seen it. So, let’s talk about it.

There were 9 episodes in the first season. There are 7 episodes in this season. The creators of this season are also Reema Kagti and Zoya Akhtar. He has co-written the screenplay with Alankrita Srivastava. The director of each episode is different. Neeraj Ghayavan of ‘Masaan’ in two episodes, Alankrita Srivastava took over the director’s chair. One episode has been directed by Nitya Mehra. The remaining two episodes have been directed by Zoya and Reema together. First and foremost, like season one, this time no knowledge has been given anywhere. Sexual relationships are well explored. Sex is not used as a tool. Intimate scenes were kept where necessary. Suggestive sex has been kept more. Which I liked. Sex doesn’t need to be unnecessarily inserted to get some viewers. While watching the series, nowhere does it seem that the makers have said anything just like that. Whatever is being said and done, there is some motive behind it.

Made in Heaven Season 2 Review: The Story Plot

Where the story was left in the first season, it moves forward from there. Karan and Tara plan the wedding of the people. Jazz and Kabir are part of his team. This time two new faces have been added to this team. One is of Meher and the other is of Bulbul. Bulbul is the wife of Johri. Johri now holds the status of a partner in Made in Heaven. Every new episode comes with a new marriage and brings with it some social, sexual, or relationship problems. The team of Made in Heaven does the work of solving or diluting it. There is no noise for this. There is no great revolution. It is dealt with like any normal thing. There is one such thing with this show, which makes it a mature social relationship drama. Abnormal things in society also become normal after coming under the purview of Made in Heaven.

Like Made in Heaven, the story of Made in Heaven Season 2 will also be seen revolving around Tara Khanna (Shobhita Dhulipala) and Karan Mehra (Arjun Mathur). Both will be seen solving the problems of their personal life as well as professional life in different ways. But this time the problems will be huge and there will be no one to support them. In the last season, Tara’s husband Aadil Khanna (Jim Sarbh) used to live with her to solve every major problem. Whereas in Made in Heaven Season 2, her husband will become the biggest problem of her life. His mother, who has been supporting Karan at every turn, will not even talk to him this season. In such a situation, how do they solve the problems of both professional as well as personal life… This series of seven episodes has been made on this.

Apart from the story of two new characters added Karan and Tara, this season also shows the story of Bulbul Johri (Mona Singh) and Meher Chaudhary (Trinetra Haldar). Bulbul Johri arrives as an auditor of Made in Heaven. Episode by episode, the secret is revealed to the viewers that Bulbul Johri, who looks strong on the outside, is very emotional on the inside. She too has been a victim of domestic violence at one point in time and is currently worried about her child. At the same time, transgender Meher is upset with the taunts of the people. No one is ready to accept her as she is.

Made in Heaven Season 2 Review and Analysis

There is a problem with such shows that they believe in revolutionizing. But this revolution happens in its content, not in intent. The intention of the makers is good here. They do not take anything for granted. And while doing anything, there is not much VOC either. Don’t even idealize any character. Whether you take the character of Tara. Makers do not idealize him. His other human aspects are also placed before us. It shows that there is greed in him too. He also has jealousy. Similarly, the series not only shows the gray side of Karan’s character but also addresses it. Like he is doing drugs, he is transferring lakhs of rupees to someone without informing.

There are many types of weddings in the series. Bollywood weddings, Gay weddings, Marriages of middle-aged parents, etc. There are some problems behind all these marriages. Made in Heaven never vocalizes to the point of being nonsensical. To prove one thing right does not justify another wrong thing. There are also some flaws. Like: There is also an episode on Dalit marriage. But there is a mistake here. Agreed, it is not a mistake, it can be called prejudice. Radhika’s character talks about a marriage done according to Buddhist rituals as a marriage done according to Dalit rituals. Here the writers should have looked down to the ground a little. The rest of this episode also shows equally the taunts on Dalit identity and the shyness of Dalit society.

Made in Heaven talks about the hidden subtext behind the text. What can a Bollywood wedding be like? As much as there was scope, the series also talks about the politics of the industry. In this, you will find Sarfaraz, a character from the last season. It was played by Pulkit Samrat. Anurag Kashyap will also meet. In the first episode, the show also calls out those who consider white to be supreme. In the Mrinal Thakur episode, the issue of domestic violence has been addressed in a completely new way. Altogether eight stories run together in this. Tracks of Tara, Karan, Meher, Bulbul, Adil, Jazz, and Kabir along with a track from a wedding. The show justifies all the tracks. Since the first season, Tara, Karan, and to a large extent Adil were the main characters.

That’s why more focus has been given to their stories. His personal life and relationships have been served with seriousness. Shobhita Dhulipala, Arjun Mathur, and Jim Sarbh have done a number job in all three characters. His work was good in the last season as well. In this season, the same charm, sensibility, and realism have been taken forward. Shivani Raghuvanshi is in the role of Jazz. As his character has grown, his performance has also improved. Shashank Arora is not seen acting in the role of Kabir. I would also give credit for his good work to the good casting. His narration comes at the end of each episode, and there is some amazing stuff in it: like No feeling is final or Why women believe that love can change the man. A trans character in the form of Meher Chaudhary has also appeared in the series. It is played by Trinetra Haldar. Because he is trans. In such a situation, he has done justice to this character.

Three achievements of this series for me. First is its poetry. Its dialogues are not typical of Bollywood. This means to say, there are not many overt dialogues. There is literature on this. The language is not literary at all. Rather, the way they have been treated is quite poetic. Let me give you an example. The girl thinks that the boy has come to collect his belongings. Now the paths of both will separate. But the boy says a line in conversation, I am not going to return your books. From this one line, you understand that even now both will be together. The boy is not breaking up. Additional congratulations to Reema, Zoya, and Alankrita for writing this series.

The second track was achieved by Bulbul and Johri. In the beginning, you do not see the character of Bulbul fitting into the atmosphere. But as the series progresses, the character played by Mona Singh seems to be the best part of the series. Vijay Raj does good acting everywhere. But the work was done by Mona Singh. Wonderful. I want a spin-off of his track. If it was a cricket match, Mona Singh and her character of Bulbul would have been the man of the match for me. This character has been written very well. Also, Mona has put a lot of fun into that writing. At one place Vijay Raj and Mona Singh are talking on a video call. Vijay’s character says you are looking very beautiful today. Mona reacts to this, what a wonderful performance.

Like these things, season 2 issues like domestic violence, casteism, and extramarital affairs have been raised with great seriousness. These issues have been discussed many times. But, in Made in Heaven Season 2 these issues have been shown in a very simple way by linking them to marriage. A lot of work has been done on the costume and set design. The casting in the series is also amazing. Every episode has tried to feature famous faces from the film industry. Trinetra steals the limelight Shobhita Dhulipala looks amazing this season as well as last season. Karan Mehra created a lot of drama this season. He tried his best to show his emotional side. Mona Singh, like always, this time also gave life to her character with her acting. On the other hand, Trinetra looted all the limelight of season 2. Trinetra was impressed with her acting.

compared to the first season, Made in Heaven Season 2 failed to leave a mark. The story has been dragged on a bit too long. In the last season where drama, suspense, and romance were seen in every episode. At the same time, there was a lack of these things in this season. There was neither drama nor suspense in the entire series. Even the story of some characters was cut in half. For example, what happened to the loan that Jaspreet Kaur (Shivani Raghuvanshi) had taken was left unanswered throughout the season. What happened to the money Karan Mehra (Arjun Mathur) had embezzled from the company? Etc.

Made in Heaven Season 2 Review: The Last Words

The third achievement was the relationship between Tara and Karan. There is a warmth in their relationship. There is also fluidity. Both are emotional hiding places for each other. They feel comfortable with each other. When Karan’s mother dies. At that time, the way Tara hugs him when they meet for the first time. His comfort is visible there. I liked it the best, the makers preserved the purity of their relationship. There is a lot to say, but I will say this much, do watch it once. Made in Heaven Season 2 is streaming on Prime Video. Made in Heaven Season 2 is a one-time web series. If you like stories revolving around women and the LGBTQ community and are keen to delve into their problems, then you can watch this series. But, if you are expecting drama, romance, and suspense from this season like season 1 then this season may disappoint you.
