Lupin Season 3: Summary

The third season begins with Assane hiding in Marseille, after revealing the truth about Hubert Pellegrini. He wants to protect his family, Claire, and Raoul, who have been under threat since his identity as a thief was exposed. Assane returns to Paris, where he steals the valuable Black Pearl and fakes his death. However, the past comes back to haunt him when his mother, Mariama, is kidnapped. He is coerced into carrying out a series of audacious robberies to rescue her. Over time, Assane uncovers the kidnapper’s identity and devises a plan to save his mother, protect his family, and eliminate his enemies once and for all. However, a difficult choice at the end of the episode changes the course of her life and leaves open questions. Jean-Luc Keller, a former adversary of Assane, has harbored a desire for revenge ever since Assane framed him for murder. Keller uses Assane’s mother, whom he tracked to Senegal, to complicate Assane’s life. However, Keller himself faces betrayal from his associates, leading to his arrest. The season culminates in a tense confrontation between Assane and Keller, resulting in the latter’s arrest.

Lupin Season 3 Ending Explained: Is Assane in Prison?

Fortunately, Jean-Luc Keller’s revenge failed, and he is likely to spend a long time in prison. However, the end of Lupin Season 3 was not positive for Assane, who decided to turn himself into the police. The character played by Omar Sy couldn’t bear to see Benjamin unjustly imprisoned. Before confessing to his crimes, Assane made sure Benjamin was released, but that wasn’t all. Our hero entrusted a letter to his friend, in which he explains to Claire that she was right and that he should have confessed to his crimes a long time ago:

“Claire. My love. Please forgive me. I have failed you again. But this time it is for a good cause. By the time you read my letter, I will have turned myself into the police. When I am in prison, no one will be interested in me and that’s great. It’s time for everyone to forget Assane Diop. And, above all, for you and Raul to return to normality. It took me a while to realize, but you were always right. You always were. (…) It’s time to admit responsibility and pay for the evil I did. (…) Here is my love. It is not the end we expected, but you are free. And as long as I have you in my heart, I will be too. I love you all Assane”.

Just when we thought it was the end of Lupin Season 3, Assane receives a mysterious letter delivered by one of the guards at the prison where he is serving his sentence. Our hero is terrified to discover that Hubert Pellegrini is not only his cellmate but that someone close to him has been playing a double game! Claire is far from safe, on the contrary! And Assane won’t be able to do anything from his cell. The end of season 3 of Lupin sets the tone: Assane has to escape from prison as quickly as possible!

Who is About to Betray Assane at the End of Lupin Season 3?

Unfortunately, it is impossible to answer this question. The various faces that appear when Assane learns of Hubert Pellegrini’s message are all potential suspects. We’ll have to wait until we can watch the rest of the series to find out who might turn against our hero. We bet on Benjamin, but this is just a guess.

Does Assane Plan to Escape from Prison at the End of Lupin Part 3?

We still don’t know if the character played by Omar Sy will escape prison, but if his loved ones are in danger, we’re sure he’ll do whatever it takes to save them. Assane has the skills and is certainly planning to escape at the end of Lupin Season 3. But will he move forward? Answer in the fourth part!

Assane in Prison – Will He Escape?

Assane always had the help of accomplices in his robberies, with Benjamin being his most trusted partner. However, after Benjamin’s arrest, Assane turns to Guédira, a corrupt police officer, for help. He promises to turn himself in when everything is resolved. Guédira keeps his word, assisting Assane in recovering a stolen painting and arresting Manon, who was collaborating with Keller. At the season’s climax, Assane finds himself face to face with Keller, surrounded by police. Instead of running away, he keeps his promise and voluntarily surrenders. He recognizes that running away would only put his family in constant danger, and he is unwilling to risk the well-being of his wife, Claire, and son, Raoul.

By handing himself in, Assane takes the opportunity to clear Benjamin’s name, who has been in prison since the failed bracelet theft. Benjamin’s freedom was one of Assane’s priorities, and he could not allow his friend to remain in prison. Assane takes responsibility for his crimes and is sent to prison, where he finds solace in the novels of Arsène Lupin. However, the suspense continues when Assane receives a message from a prisoner in the next cell, who threatens revenge. Assane realizes that someone close to him has been turned against him, putting his family in danger once again. The season ends with Assane determined to escape prison and uncover the mysterious plan that threatens his life.

Who Sends The Letter To Assane??

In the last episode’s emotional climax, a guard hands Assane an envelope, claiming it is from his neighbor in the next cell. Inside the envelope, Assane finds a photo of him holding a novel by Arsène Lupin titled “The Revenge of Cagliostro”. The book’s title suggests that a former enemy is using someone close to Assane to exact revenge. When the camera pans to the cell next door, the neighbor is revealed to be Hubert Pellegrini, Assane’s arch-nemesis. Hubert and Assane have a long history of antagonism, with Hubert having framed Assane’s father and caused his death in prison.

Assane took revenge years later, exposing Hubert’s crimes and putting him in prison. Now, Hubert plans an elaborate revenge, using someone close to Assane to target him. Although we don’t know the exact identity of the person who turned against Assane, the season suggests three possibilities: his mother, Mariama; his best friend, Benjamin; or Juliette, Hubert’s daughter. Mariama is a thief like her son, and her loyalty may be questionable. Benjamin was betrayed by Assane and spent time in prison, which may have influenced his perspective. Juliette, in turn, may feel betrayed by Assane after his escape, fueling a desire for revenge against him. The season ends with Assane determined to find out who the traitor is and protect his family at any cost. The future of “Lupin” is filled with mystery and intrigue, leaving fans excited for the next season.

What Happened to Assane’s Mother?

It’s one of the most unexpected twists in the Lupin Season 3 finale. Assane manages to convince his mother to turn against Keller by telling her the whole truth. She agrees to meet Jean-Luc, who suspects nothing, and agrees to meet her at the Arc de Triomphe. Assane then orders her nemesis to be arrested and, unfortunately, we never see her mother again. We’ll likely hear from her again in the rest of the series.
