Disney+ has recently published on its Twitter account a 30-second video presenting the upcoming Marvel 2023 series Loki 2, narrated by Tom Hiddleston himself. After showing highly anticipated series such as Ahsoka, Secret Invasion and The Mandalorian Season 3, Hiddleston reminds viewers that Loki is also on the way, giving fans a few seconds of new footage from Season 2 in which the iconic protagonist is dressed in high-end clothing that Mobius M. Mobius (Owen Wilson) deems “a little over the top”.
Loki Season 2: First Images
Loki Season 2 will pick up after the shocking finale of Season 1 of the Disney+ series, which saw the main character and her female variant Sylvie meet a variant of Kang the Conqueror known as the One Who Remains. Sylvie ended up killing the One Who Remains before sending Loki back to the Time Variance Authority headquarters. Though initially appearing to be the TVA itself, the God of Mischief soon learned that his fellow B-15s and Mobius no longer recognized him, and it was eventually revealed that a new variant of Kang was now in charge of the TVA at the place of the One who Remains. Based on the first footage, it appears that Mobius will remember his “mischievous” friend and colleague, and the two will once again venture out to save the Multiverse.

There is currently no confirmation that Jonathan Majors will return as Kang or any of his many variations in Loki season 2. However, in her absence, the Disney+ series has cast Kate Dickie, best known for playing Lady Lysa Arryn on Game of Thrones from 2011 to 2014, to play an undisclosed new antagonist in the upcoming season. The Scottish actress is the latest high-profile addition to the Loki cast after Everything Everywhere All at Once star Ke Huy Quan revealed she joined the series in September 2022. Quan will play a character called “Oroborus,” who also calls himself “BO”, head of technology at the Time Variance Authority (TVA).
The rest of the Loki season 2 cast includes Gugu Mbatha-Raw as Ravonna Renslayer, Eugene Cordero as Casey/Hunter K-5E, Tara Strong as Miss Minutes and Sophia Di Martino as Sylvie, while Rafael Casal has been cast in an undisclosed role. Directing duo Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead directed most of Loki Season 2, after impressing Marvel with their work on Moon Knight. All six episodes were written by Eric Martin, who took over from Michael Waldron as lead writer on Loki, who still remains attached as executive producer. Loki Season 1 is available to stream on Disney+, with Season 2 slated for a Summer 2023 release.
