Locke and Key Season 2: Do Kinsey And Scot End Up Together? Ending Explained
The series Locke and Key of Netflix follows the children of the Locke family as they protect the magical keys to their ancestral home, Keyhouse. Having recently moved to Matheson, Tyler, Kinsey, and Bode initially struggled to fit in, especially Kinsey. However, she ends up becoming a close friend of the eclectic group Savini, mainly because of Scotus’ endless friendly invitations.
Since Season 1, Scot and Kinsey have had chemistry, but something or the other has always stood in the way. Scot has often clearly expressed his affection for Kinsey, but Kinsey remains undecided and almost breaks Scotts heart when she begins dating Gabe. However, the only bright side of Gabe revealed as a demon is that he’s now giving Scot and Kinsey another chance at romance. So do they end up together? Let’s find out.
Do Kinsey and Scot End Up Together in Locke and Key Season 2?
When Kinsey begins dating Gabe, Scot first tries to come to terms with him, but realizes that it is too painful not to know for sure whether Kinsey will ever be with him or not. So he agrees to remain good friends with her and continues to be part of the magical adventures that follow. However, as Season 2 progresses, Kinsey becomes increasingly suspicious of Gabe’s intentions. The fact that he refuses to let her look inside his head actually makes Kinsey feel closer to Scot, whose head she’s been on. In a way, despite his date with Gabe, it seems more and more that Kinsey trusts Scot.
The real blow comes when Scot reveals that he could leave Matheson and return to England. Although she doesn’t show it, Kinsey is devastated and most likely realizes how important Scot is to her. The feeling is heightened when he reveals towards the end of Season 2 that he is not leaving and believes he should stay in Matheson. The two then kiss, and it looks like they’re finally together.
Alas, Season 2 ends things on an ambiguous note, and we don’t see if Kinsey and Scot officially start dating after sharing a brief kiss. The final scenes tell us that Kinsey is staying in Matheson while Tyler goes on a trip. Since Scot decides to stay behind as well, there’s a chance they’ll end up together. The fact that he risked his life on multiple occasions for Kinsey also shows just how devoted he is to her.
However, based on the dynamic between the two, it seems more likely that Kinsey and Scot will remain adventurous friends and accomplices of each other rather than being a couple. Even if they do go out briefly, it seems their personalities would create an unbalanced relationship (Scot always being the one following Kinsey’s orders). Ultimately, a romance between the two seems highly unlikely in the long run. However, we can expect to see them embark on many twisted magical adventures together.
