Legends of Tomorrow: CW Series Canceled After Seven Seasons! Here Why

Another Arrowverse show greets fans and closes its doors. We’re talking about Legends of Tomorrow, a CW series that was canceled after seven seasons. The future of the show had unfortunately been in the balance for weeks and today the sad announcement has arrived.

Legends of Tomorrow Canceled After Seven Seasons

On social media, the creative team of the series wanted to thank the public for the support over all these years and for the epic journey they have been able to tell. Although the seventh season had concluded the narrative arcs of numerous characters, the final installment gave birth to a great cliffhanger with the introduction of Michael Carter aka Booster Gold, a well-known hero of the DC Comics. Donald Faison, best known for the role of Doctor Chris Turk in the television series Scrubs, took the role. The actor said he was thrilled to be joining the superhero family on the small screen.

Legends of Tomorrow

The news came within hours of Batwoman’s cancellation after three seasons. At the moment, the only Arrowverse shows that have gotten the renewal have been The Flash, set to return for a ninth season, and Superman & Lois. The Legends of Tomorrow team has alternated several times over the seasons, using time travel as a common thread. The cast of the show included Caity Lotz as Sara Lance / White Canary, Nick Zano as Nate Heyood/Steel, Tala Ashe as Zari Tarazi, Jes Macallan as Ava Sharpe, Matt Ryan as Dr. Gwyn Davies, Adam Tsekhman as Gary Green, Olivia Swann as Astra Logue, Shayan Sobhian as Behrad Tarazi, Lisseth Chavez as Esperanza “Spooner” Cruz and Amy Pemberton as Gideon.

The decision to cancel Legends of Tomorrow has certainly contributed to the increasingly uncertain fate of the CW network, perhaps close to sale, and the recent merger between Warner Bros and Discovery, ready to reshuffle the cards on the table.
