Last Night In Soho Ending Explained: Who is The Aggressor? Is Ellie Killed Sandie?

The final twist probably won’t surprise many viewers. Ellie learns that Sandie’s corpse she sees is actually Sandie’s spirit after many experiences of abuse. Sandie is still alive, and she is in fact Ellie’s owner, this detail is practically taken over from the beginning. It also explains how Sandie murdered all of her former abusers and why Ellie is haunted by male ghosts. Sandie’s main attacker was thought to be an old man who followed Ellie everywhere.

Why did Sandie kill Jack? Is Sandie Really Dead?

While Sandie’s manager Jack ( Matt Smith) promises her a future in music, Ellie realizes that Sandie’s time in London wasn’t all good. She is forced into prostitution by Jack. One fateful night, Ellie witnesses an alleged murder of Sandie. Ellie begins a wild hunt for the truth about this murder while she is haunted by the ghosts of Sandie’s numerous ruthless lovers. Sandie wasn’t murdered that night – she killed Jack in self-defense, whom she was never to see again. He was buried under the floorboards in the house (probably in her room). Sandie then murdered countless other men. The strict landlady Ms. Collins was Sandie (whose real name is Alex), and the host of faceless male ghosts are her numerous victims who beg Ellie for help.

The information in the run-up to the unveiling is sparse but consistent. The recurring pain of what happened to Sandie (Alexandra’s stage name) was too much for Alex. Before she becomes a serial killer, we see how she becomes more distant and refuses the help of local police officer Lindsay. This is used as a diversionary maneuver, as we, like Ellie, mistake him for the older Jack. The trauma takes Alex’s Sandie image until she starts taking life. “Alex murdered Sandie,” explains Lindsay.

While Ellie’s ability to see the world through Sandie’s eyes, and later see her mind, is not fully explained, it is possible that it is a result of her being surrounded by a cluster of dead, both under her feet and under her feet in Ms. Collins’ heart.

Why Did Miss Collins Try To Kill Ellie And Then Change Her Mind?

By the time Ellie finds out that the serial killer Alex was Ms. Collins, Ms. Collins already knew that her cover had been blown due to a police investigation into Sandie’s long-ago disappearance. Ellie finds out too late after drinking Ms. Collins’s poisoned tea. When John rings the doorbell, Ms. Collins attacks him. Ellie, under the influence of drugs, sets the apartment on fire. As the fire grows bigger, she is chased down the stairwell while the ghosts of the faceless men reappear.

Seeing no way out, Ms. Collins tries to cut her own neck, but Ellie stops her. Ms. Collins chooses to die in the fire and is eventually devoured by the flames. Nobody knows why Ms. Collins decided to die in the fire. The fire would no doubt reveal the many bones buried in the house.

Why Does Ellie Still See Sandie In The End?

After the house burns, Ellie and John are happy, healthy and united together. In the finale of the film, Ellie can be seen at her college fashion show. Her designs are inspired by Sandie, a symbol of acceptance and growth. Backstage, Ellie looks in a mirror. Her mother smiles at her first, then disappears, leaving a young Sandie behind. She’s wearing the same pink, sleeveless dress Ellie initially noticed. She winks at Ellie.

Since Ellie always saw her mother, it is suggested to us that those who touch her life stay. People she loves, who missed her, and who influenced her don’t go away. Despite her actions, Sandie made a positive impact on Ellie. It inspired them to be bolder, stronger, and more confident. The best of Sandie live on through Ellie, and because of that, Sandie will always be with her.
