On the whole, K.G.F. Chapter 2 is a blockbuster of epic proportions. It will write box-office history. Most of the records of Hindi films for the first day, first weekend and first week will be smashed by this dubbed film. This film (only the Hindi dubbed version) has the potential to touch the Rs. 350-crore or even the Rs. 400-crore mark, maybe even surpass that! Yes, the Hindi dubbed version may surpass the business of Hindi cinema’s highest grossing film, Dangal.

KGF: Chapter 2’s stunt sequences deserve a special mention. They are grand, inventive and do not defy logic in most places. Though Yash and Sanjay Dutt are shown as two invincible men, they do get shot and hurt while pitted against each other. KGF: Chapter 2 is an immersive sequel, which has several clap-worthy moments for the audience. The climax is cathartic and brilliantly shot. Watch out for the sequence!

All said and done, this jumps from ‘larger than life’ to ‘larger than god’ treatment, and gives Yash fans another reason to celebrate his heroism. But beneath all the screams and boisterous BGM, one important thing gets suppressed and rarely gets a chance to flourish – intriguing storytelling.

The film belongs as much to filmmaker Prashanth Neel as it does to Yash. Both of them have managed to deliver a sequel that seems more immersive than the first part. Albeit, Prashanth has always maintained that the second part had the bigger chunk of his original story when they decided to break it into two parts. For the audience who wants to watch a loaded action film with style, heavy duty stunts and dialogues, this one is simply made to order. KGF: Chapter 2 might not appeal to the seemingly woke audience, who would question consent or nitpick on commercial staples like violence

Overall, Prashanth Neel and Co have successfully recreated the magic of KGF Chapter 1, rarely losing focus on what they intended to achieve. With all the actors chipping in with useful performances, and Ravi Basrur and Yash carrying the film forward with their respective energies, KGF Chapter 2 ends as a solid commerical flick that has a solid emotional core.

Overall, KGF: Chapter 2 is a stylishly made sequel high on action and spectacle but is dull in drama and emotions. Weaker villain and conflict further mar the narrative, but the elevations hold it all together. If you like the first part of KGF and understand its weaknesses, the chances are high that you would feel the same about KGF: Chapter 2 and like it. However, if you have extremely high expectations, it will lead to an underwhelming feeling.

KGF2 is good at delivering action sequences, but not up to the mark in storytelling. This film is heavy, over-the- top and focusses nothing else than Heroism elevation. Director has made few extravaganza shots that go well with KGF Fans. An average affair for regular moviegoers, satisfactory for the cult of KGF.
