Disney Gives Green Light To Jungle Cruise Sequel, Starring Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt
Disney has dissolved reservations: Jungle Cruise 2 with Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt officially becomes a saga. Deadline exclusively reports that Disney has officially endorsed Jungle Cruise 2, the sequel to the film with Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt, still in our theaters, finally released after a delay of over a year, caused by the pandemic. The screenplay will again be entrusted to Michael Green, who has some experience of sequels and adaptations, after Blade Runner 2049 and the story of Assassination on the Orient Express and Assassination on the Nile (which should be released in February). Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt will then return as skipper with a prompt (albeit rarely good) joke Frank Wolff and researcher Lily Houghton, in a sequel whose plot or timing is not yet known.
The studio would in fact have decided to exploit the success obtained by the film which exceeded 100 million dollars at the American box office. Michael Green , co-writer of the first sequel, will be the screenwriter of the second Jungle Cruise and Jaume Collet-Serra will return to direct . Dwayne Johnson and Emily Blunt will reprise the roles of Frank Wolff and Dr. Lily Houghton. The production team will include Scott Sheldon, John Davis, John Fox, Beau Flynn, Johnson, Dany Garcia and Hiram Garcia.

The film Jungle Cruise tells what happens when Lily (played by Emily Blunt) leaves London for the Amazon rainforest and recruits Frank (Dwayne Johnson) to guide her along the river with La Quila, his boat. Lily is determined to discover an ancient tree with extraordinary healing abilities, capable of changing the future of medicine. During this epic quest, the unlikely duo encounters countless dangers and supernatural forces, hidden in the deceptive beauty of the lush rainforest. But as the secrets of the lost tree are revealed, the stakes for Lily and Frank grow higher and their fate and that of humanity hang by a thread.
The cast of Jungle Cruise will also include Jack Whitehall, Paul Giamatti, and Edgar Ramirez and Jesse Plemons who will play the villains of the film, conquistadors leading a German expedition.
