Insomniac Games: Marvel’s Venom is the Next Game for 2025

The leaks from Insomniac Games continue after discovering the existence of a contract for three X-Men games, the much-rumored spin-off of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 centered on Venom and coming out in 2025 is now confirmed. Venom Lethal Protector is the title of the game and takes up that of the 1993 six-episode miniseries of the same name: the game is designed as a spin-off of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 and will act as a bridge between the events narrated in the second chapter and the events of the future Marvel’s Spider-Man 3, similar to what happened with Marvel’s Spider-Man Miles Morales.

The game is scheduled for autumn 2025 on PlayStation 5 (unless delayed), among the playable characters there will be Peter, Miles, and the symbiote, committed to freeing New York from Carnage’s attack. We are talking about a short-term campaign (around 8/10 hours) with just over ten missions and three large boss fights, with the addition of optional challenges, collectibles, and secondary missions.

In the last few hours, an unfortunate and damaging event has hit Insomniac Games, a developer belonging to PlayStation Studios. The development team was attacked by some hackers (belonging to the Rhysida group) who stole a considerable number of files full of information and documents from the studio (we are talking about 1.3 million files weighing 1.7 terabytes). To return the stolen goods, a ransom was requested, a ransom which Insomniac however did not want to pay to the ransomware group, who in turn published all the information contained in the stolen files online. And what has emerged is truly extensive planning! From this moment on the news will contain “spoilers” on everything that emerged from the stolen data and therefore, we invite you not to read the news if you do not want to stumble upon Insomniac Games‘ future programs and the lineup in development at the studio.

Below we are about to bring you all the information released online, with the documents present in the files which are dated July 2023. First of all, here are the 5 titles already planned by the development studio complete with the release period:

• Title dedicated to Venom – fiscal year 2025 (April 2025-March 2026)
• Marvel’s Wolverine – fiscal year 2026 (April 2026-March 2027)
• Marvel’s Spider-Man 3 – fiscal year 2028 (April 2028-March 2029)
• New Ratchet & Clank – Fiscal Year 2029 (April 2029-March 2030)
• New X-Men Title – Fiscal Year 2030 (April 2030-March 2031)

The documents also revealed an agreement between Sony Interactive Entertainment and Marvel for the creation of 3 other games dedicated to the X-Men, obviously developed by Insomniac Games. The agreement in question was signed by the ex-president of SIE, Jim Ryan, and by Isaac Perlmutter, president of Marvel Entertainment. The partnership began in July 2021. Finally, some leaks relating to Marvel’s Wolverine have appeared online, leaks that emerged from some videos taken from the game. These videos come from demo versions (demo or alpha) and therefore may or may not be present in the final game. All the videos were shared on the Reddit forum: if you want to avoid spoilers on the adventure dedicated to Wolverine, we advise you to avoid the forum at all costs.
