Hypnotic Netflix: Release Date, Cast and Story What Do We Know About Netflix’s New Horror Starring Kate Siegel
Kate Siegel (Midnight Mass, The Haunting of Hill House, Gerald's Game) is the protagonist of Hypnotic, the new horror-thriller from Netflx in which the actress plays the role of a woman suffering from a severe anxiety disorder... Here is the trailer, the plot and cast of the film.
Halloween is approaching and Netflix does not fail to give its fans great high-voltage movies served on a silver platter. One of the latest titles that the famous platform will offer to all its subscribers at the end of October is Hypnotic, a psychological horror thriller starring the beautiful Kate Siegel in the title role.
The most loyal to Netflix will remember the actress as one of the protagonists of Midnight Mass, a very successful TV series distributed by the platform. Siegel, in fact, is a “veteran” of the genre. Just remember his presence in films such as Oculus – The Reflection of Evil, Ouija – The Origin of Evil and Gerald’s Game (adaptation of the famous novel by Stephen King), all three directed by the great Mike Flanagan.
In Hypnotic, however, the actress moves away from previous roles to play a woman suffering from a serious anxiety disorder that threatens to undermine and completely compromise her already precarious life. It should also be noted that Hypnotic is the first film by Kate Siegel that does not somehow boast a collaboration with Mike Flanagan (who is also her husband). At the beginning of the article you can enjoy the official trailer of the film released online by Netflix.

Hypnotic: The Plot
As can also be deduced from the trailer, Hypnotic highlights what appears to be an essential link between mental illness and hypnosis. The first images of the movie show Jenn (Kate Siegel) locked in an elevator. The woman is visibly upset and completely overwhelmed by anxiety, when she is convinced that the walls of the elevator itself are progressively approaching her to crush her. The protagonist is therefore presented as suffering from a generalized anxiety disorder, which is seriously affecting her mental stability and consequently the quality of her life. A friend therefore advises the woman to rely on a valid therapist who can help her in some way.
Kate thus entrusts herself to the care of Doctor Collin Meade, an expert hypnotist who welcomes our patient in an apparently aseptic and normal but at the same time scary office. After a few sessions Kate finds herself having creepy dreams, followed by long mental blackouts. During these real breaks from her mind, the woman will end up killing innocent people on behalf of this mysterious hypnotist …
