House of the Dragon: The Official Teaser Trailer For The Game Of Thrones Prequel
The first teaser trailer of the highly anticipated Game of Thrones spin-off is online! The House of the Dragon TV series will tell the intricate story of House Targaryen, whose three-headed dragon symbol is engulfed in flames.
The teaser trailer released by Warner Media for the HBO Max streaming service, albeit short-lived, gives the idea that the series will follow in the footsteps of Game of Thrones, both in terms of the tone of the photography and the epicity of the project. On the development of the plot, however, there are not many clues as to how it will develop. While the show takes inspiration from George RR Martin’s 2018 short story Fire & Blood, House of the Dragon’s storyline may depart from the pages of the book to give fans something new and unexpected.
An important note is given by the writing (at the 16th second) which indicates the time of setting of the story or 200 years before the fall of the throne. During this time it is the Targaryen family who sit on the Iron Throne and rule Westeros.
The video offers the opportunity to see – after the first images published in April – some of the main protagonists such as Matt Smith in the role of Prince Daemon or the younger brother of King Viserys I, who will be played by Paddy Constantine. Daemon will be a skilled warrior and a good dragon rider. In the scene: behind him comes the princess Rhaenyra Targaryen played by Emma D’Arcy.
At the 39th second of the video, Lord Corlys Velaryon aka The Sea Snake, played by Steve Toussaint, appears in the foreground: Olivia Cooke is Alicent Hightower, starring in a short scene from the 42nd second. She is the second wife of King Viserys I Targaryen and the mother of Aegon II Targaryen: The teaser trailer features only one fairly clear sentence: Gods, kings, fire and blood. It is not dreams that make us kings but dragons. Dragons, as seen in Game of Thrones, are a powerful weapon capable of decimating entire legions of enemies. Unfortunately, the teaser trailer does not show the fantasy creatures, probably keeping them for the final trailer.
