House of The Dragon: Here Is The Release Date and Star Cast First Look Of The Spin-Off Series Of Game Of Thrones
House of the Dragon, a Game of Thrones spin-off series all set to release this year. House of the Dragon will star Paddy Considine as Viserys Targaryen; Matt Smith as Prince Daemon Targaryen; Emma D’Arcy as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen and Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower. The project is co-created by George RR Martin and Condal (Colony) and will be set between 150 and 300 years earlier than the parent series. The show will tell “the beginning of the end of House Targaryen” and will draw inspiration from the book “Fire & Blood” by Martin. House of the Dragon will be directed by Miguel Sapochnik, one of the veterans of Game of Thrones. Other directors will be Clare Kilner, Geeta V. Patel and Greg Yaitanes. HBO has ordered a first season consisting of 10 episodes.

House of the Dragon will officially debut on HBO and HBO Max on August 21 , with Olivia Cooke as Alicent Hightower, Emma D’Arcy as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, and Matt Smith as Prince Daemon Targaryen. The series was created by George RR Martin together with Ryan J. Condal and the latter will also serve as showrunner together with Miguel Sapochnik.

The rest of the cast will include Graham McTavish (Outlander), Ryan Corr (Mary Magdalene), Jefferson Hall (Vikings), David Horovitch (Miss Marple), Matthew Needham (Chernobyl), Bill Patterson (Fleabag, Good Omens) and Gavin Spokes (Hamilton). Hall will play the dual roles of twins Lord Jason Lannister, Lord of Rock Castle, and Ser Tyland Lannister, a shrewd and calculating politician. McTavish will play Ser Harrold Westerling, a character who was part of the knights in the service of King Jaehaerys and it is an example of chivalry and honor. Paterson landed the part of Lord Lyman Beesbury, Lord of Honeyholt and head of finance among King Viserys ‘ advisors. Spokes will be Lord Lyonel Strong, Master of Laws and Hand of King Viserys. Corr will be Ser Harwin Strong, considered the strongest man in the Seven Kingdoms and the eldest son of Lyonel Strong, and thus Herrenhal’s heir. Needham will appear as Layrs Strong, Lyonel’s youngest son who takes him to court. Horovitch Finally, he will be the Great Master Mellos, the voice of reason and a trusted advisor to King Viserys.
