Hawkeye Kingpin How Could He Have Survived In The Ending? Here What The Theories Claims

The Hawkeye series introduced one of the greatest comic book villains or Wilson Fisk but this one could have been killed in the finale: here's what could have happened!

On December 22, 2021, the Marvel Studios Hawkeye TV series ended with the sixth episode. The show with Jeremy Renner and Hailee Steinfeld wowed Marvel fans for its action scenes, for the fun buddy movie tone but also for the welcome return of a beloved character, who starred in the now-concluded Netflix series Daredevil. Obviously we are talking about Wilson Fisk aka Kingpin played by the extraordinary Vincent D’Onofrio.

Is Kingpin Dead

The same actor recently spoke of the character’s appearance in Hawkeye as if his story was a continuation of the one seen in Daredevil. According to D’Onofrio Kingpin was the victim of Thanos’ snap and returned 5 years later to take over the city of New York again, which the criminal calls his own!

In the season finale of the Marvel Studios series, however, it seems that Kingpin’s plan to recapture the city of New York may end sooner than expected. One of the final scenes shows Maya Lopez / Echo facing Wilson Fisk. The girl is determined to take revenge for her father’s death (caused by Kingpin) and is holding a gun that she doesn’t seem afraid to use.

Kingpin tries to reason with his granddaughter in law by telling her that they are a family but there seems to be nothing to be done: Maya Lopez is determined to pull the trigger, so she raises her hand and points the gun at Kingpin.

The “big shot” of organized crime is talking but Maya doesn’t seem to listen to him. The camera moves up and a shot is heard. In addition to this you can also see a light to the right of the frame that represents the light of the shot emitted by the gun itself. Here are two factors that suggest that Kingpin escaped: the first concerns the sound of the gunshot, which is clean and does not seem to have encountered an obstacle; the second concerns the light of the shot which is lateral and not frontal, i.e. in the direction of Kingpin.

The Cut Scene With The Kingpin Alive?

A rumor from The Cosmic Circus website suggests that Hawkeye should have shown the audience a scene in the credits, which was cut. This would show the Kingpin alive as Ronin’s sword is delivered to him and a message from Clint Barton “advising” him to stay away from his family and Kate Bishop’s.

How Would Wilson Fisk Have Been Saved?

In all probability 99%, Wilson Fisk was saved. At most he could be seriously injured, he could have lost hearing in one ear or he could be blinded in one eye as happens in the comics when Maya shoots him. But how could Kingpin have been saved? Maya appears to be very determined to take him out. His hand doesn’t tremble and his eyes look determined. So excluding that it was she herself who deflected the blow, we can think of two theories.

Kingpin vs Kate

The premise is that, in my opinion, Kingpin will star in Hawkeye’s spin-off series Echo. For this reason, at the finale of the series on Hawkeye and Kate Bishop it is plausible to think that the criminal boss is saved by his ally, who could be one of the future enemies of Maya Lopez in the series dedicated to her. The possible suspects are Kazi, who in Echo could definitely turn into his paper counterpart or the Clown and Bullseye, who is one of Daredevil’s most formidable enemies in the comics. This is an incredibly skilled killer psychopath at martial arts and throwing objects: he basically always hits his target (a bit like Hawkeye).

The other theory, more likely in my opinion, is that Kingpin was saved by his enemy Daredevil. Matt Mardock doesn’t want to see Wilson Fisk dead but wants to bring him to justice, so New York’s fearless hero may have stepped in to deflect Maya Lopez’s gunshot in Hawkeye’s finale. It is in fact probable (there is nothing confirmed) that Daredevil will also be present in the Echo series.
