Harry Potter Series: Is Now Official Here Is the Teaser Trailer Coming On Max
This will be the first Harry Potter Series after the franchise released a series of successful films and video games. The announcement came during the presentation where Warner Bros. Discovery unveiled Max. JK Rowling is also attached to the as-yet-untitled Harry Potter series as an executive producer. Warner Bros. Discovery claims that “each of Rowling’s Harry Potter books will become a ten-year series,” which seems like a substantial investment at first glance, although the company is certainly counting on it to become as successful as Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon and The Last of Us.
“We are delighted to offer audiences the opportunity to experience Hogwarts in a whole new way,” said Casey Bloys, president and chief executive officer of HBO & Max Content. “Harry Potter is a cultural phenomenon and there is an enduring love and thirst for the wizarding world. In partnership with Warner Bros. Television and JK Rowling, this new original Max series will dive deep into each of the fans of the iconic book that have come to enjoy all these years”.
“Max’s commitment to preserving the integrity of my books is important to me, and I look forward to being a part of this new adaptation that will allow for a degree of depth and detail that only a long-running television series can. offer,” said JK Rowling.
What Will Max’s Harry Potter Series Be About?
From the Warner Bros. Discovery press release: “The stories in each of Rowling’s Harry Potter books will become a decade-long series produced with the same epic craftsmanship, love, and care for which this global franchise is known. The series will feature a new cast that will lead a new generation of fans, filled with fantastic details, much-loved characters, and dramatic locations that Harry Potter fans have loved for over twenty-five years. Each season will be authentic to the original books and will bring Harry Potter and these incredible adventures to new audiences around the world, while the classic and beloved original films will remain at the heart of the franchise and available to watch globally.”
After stalling the (still incomplete) Fantastic Beasts series, WB Discovery had long been looking for new ways to appease the hunger for adventures set in JK Rowling’s magical world: we talked about the various possibilities in detail in this article (which we invite you to consult) but recently the rumors about an actual reboot of the now classic seven novels were becoming insistent. Warner Bros. had previously adapted every book in Rowling’s series into a blockbuster film, starting with Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone in 2001 and ending with Harry and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2 in 2011. The eight films have grossed the most $7.7 billion at the global box office and further popularized the brand.
The idea would be, in practice, to go back to the source, with a basic novel for each season, to which to remain as faithful as possible to avoid the drifts seen in many cases in the cinema, and having the possibility of dealing with many aspects and side stories that have not been included in the cinematographic playing time, but which instead would easily find their space on TV (from the deepening of characters and subplots to the various flashbacks just mentioned in the cinema, such as the history of the Marauders or Tom Riddle’s past). All of this, of course, would be under the approval of the original author, who however would not have an effective role as screenwriter or showrunner, but only as an external producer and supervisor; and if her signature is still crucial and fans expect her to supervise her.
