Halloween Kills

As the post-credits scene from the 2018 Halloween movie shows, Michael survives even though Laurie Strode’s house burns down around him. He then launches into a murderous madness, murdering all the people he meets on the way home. Meanwhile, Tommy Doyle gathers a host of grieving community members to take revenge on Michael. If you have any questions regarding the end of Halloween Kills, we tell you everything!

Halloween Kills Ending Explained

Although Allyson, Lonnie, and her son Cameron were armed and ready when they entered the house at the end of Halloween Kills, it all went to naught. Michael Myers quickly takes over the trio, Lonnie dies off camera, Cameron is brutally beaten before his neck is broken, while Allyson is nearly killed. She is saved by her mother Karen, who stabs Michael with a pitchfork and grabs his mask.

A maskless Michael Myers chases after Karen, who runs through the nearby alleys. It turns out that Karen was leading Michael into an ambush, where Tommy, Brackett, whose daughter was killed by Michael in the 1978 film, and other locals gathered. After kindly giving the unmasked Michael Myers time to put his mask back on, they give him a hell of a beating, including using Tommy’s baseball bat, which is then shot several times. When he’s down, Karen stabs him with her own butcher’s knife.

As Brackett is about to shoot Michael Myers in the head. Laurie suggests that the killer isn’t really in the flesh, as no man could have survived his many injuries. She also believes that the more he kills, the more he “transcends” into something else. Perhaps to prove his point, Michael Myers almost supernaturally comes to life, slits Brackett’s throat, and effortlessly kills the whole gang. Tommy is the last to leave, Michael stabs him before finishing him off with the bat. Neither Karen nor Allyson is aware of it, with the couple staying in the Myers’ house surrounded by police and emergency services.

Halloween Kills ends with a sudden tribute to Psycho, as Karen goes to Michael’s sister’s bedroom. She looks out the window, but Michael Myers suddenly appears behind her. After stabbing her to death, he likely experiences the only happy ending for all of the characters in the sequel by accomplishing his goal of looking out of his sister’s bedroom window.

What Does This Bode For The Future? Spoilers!

The ending of Halloween Kills lets us hear that Laurie Strode somehow knows her daughter Karen is murdered, and if her vendetta against Michael was intense before, it’s going to get hot in Halloween Ends. It has been confirmed that the next sequel will take place after a time jump.

And that it could therefore take place a few years after the events of Halloween Kills. Haddonfield had time to recover from Michael’s night of horror, which claimed dozens of lives. Key characters still alive at the end of Halloween Kills are Laurie, Allyson, Hawkins, and Lindsey, the latter of which narrowly escaped an attack from Michael.
