During the arguments of these cases in the court, the outcome is not decided by the Nayak or the Pratinayak. The main character of the series, Kashaf, is also shown losing the case. Guilty Minds can be said to be a courtroom drama with a practical approach, where court defeats and wins are a part of life.
Set in the legal world of Delhi, two young lawyers with opposite ideologies are at the center of the story. Both have different attitude towards profession and life. Deepak Rana is associated with a high profile law firm Khanna & Khanna Associates, which is owned by Senior Advocate LN Khanna. He has no moral yardstick in choosing the case for the ambitious Deepak. On the other hand, Kashaf Kaje has an idealistic outlook and puts its human aspect first while choosing a case.
Kashaf runs a law firm with his college friend Vandana, which is not very big. Her father Munawwar Kaje is a judge in the Supreme Court. Deepak and Kashaf are passouts from the same law college. Both are attracted towards each other. Another important character to add to their story is Deepak’s new junior, Shubhangi Khanna, one of the law firm’s heirs. At the same time, Shubhangi’s cousin Shubhrat Khanna is Deepak’s biggest enemy in the firm.

Guilty Minds has a slow start, but gradually the series picks up pace. In the first episode all the main characters are introduced and the series opens with the case of casting couch. So much has been said and seen in the film industry regarding this issue that nothing new is left. Ultimately the first episode seems to be a shadow of films like Section 375 and Pink.

The manner in which the courts of Delhi are depicted in the series seems close to reality. For this, the production design department and director Shefali Bhushan have to be congratulated. Shefali’s tight control is clearly visible in the composition of the scenes. Guilty Minds may represent the courtroom drama genre, but don’t put off the series expecting drama.
