Gomorrah Season 5: Who Dies At The End?
The fifth season of Gomorrah sees the Levante family exterminated within the first four episodes. After the slaughter of the final of the fourth season, even Saro, Ciccio and Grazia Levante do not survive the vengeful fury of Gennaro Savastano. Saro and Ciccio are killed by Genny’s assassins, while Grazia dies in the arms of ‘O Maestrale after the latter colds her for having challenged him.
The death of ‘O Galantommo one of the most influential drug brokers, is the trigger this season. The murder ordered by Don Gennaro will lead Nunzia, the widow of ‘O Galantommo, to side with Ciro. This feud will lead to more blood. Like that of Enzo Sangue Blu, Ciro’s first lieutenant, who will be left dying by Gennaro and then suffocated by the Immortal, a last gesture of pity addressed to his great friend.
It is in the last two episodes that the most shocking deaths of the season take place. Starting with that of ‘O Maestrale, the ferocious boss of Ponticielli. After having decided, together with ‘O Munaciello, to go over to Ciro’s side since Gennaro has now lost the war for Secondigliano,’ O Maestrale brings the Immortal to Munaciè. The latter is forced to give in to Ciro’s blackmail, who shoots ‘O Maestrale while continuing to stare’ O Munaciello in the eye. While Ciro goes to Azzurra to set a trap for her, his men go to Donna Luciana’s hiding place. Her attempt to escape will be useless: Luciana dies, united with her husband by the same unhappy fate.
‘O Munaciello will not escape the fury of Don Gennaro. When Genny manages to free himself from the car in which he was held hostage, the Savastano will attack ‘O Munaciello, killing him and taking revenge for his betrayal. In the tenth episode, Nunzia the widow of ‘O Galantommo, is also the victim of an execution. The one ordered by Ciro, who refuses to let her revenge against the Savastano be hindered by her. While Nunzia goes to the meeting place with Ciro, the faithful to the Immortal, disguised as policemen, stop her and shoot her.
Finally, the two most shocking griefs: the deaths of Genny Savastano and Ciro Di Marzio. Don Gennaro dies first, killed by Nunzia’s men who rushed to the beach to take revenge for Ciro’s betrayal. The latter, after mourning the death of his friend, stands up convinced that the armed conflict was over. Not so: a bullet surprises him, causing him to collapse on the sand. The corpses of Ciro and Genny lie together, testimony of a life spent fighting together until the end.
