Godzilla vs Kong 2: Warner Bros. and Legendary are continuing with their MonsterVerse with the eagerly awaited sequel to Godzilla vs Kong, a colossal new clash between the two powerful kaiju. The sequel will soon be shooting in Australia and now has an official release date as well!

The sequel, still untitled, will hit theaters on March 15, 2024! The film will be a direct sequel to Godzilla vs. Kong, which grossed $468 million last year at the world box office, conquering critics and audiences and setting up an unprecedented clash of the Titans on screen? We know that two MonsterVerse-related projects are in the works, including a live-action series for Apple TV+ that will bring Godzilla and many more monsters to the small screen. We also know that the director of Godzilla vs. Kong, Adam Wingard, will also return to direct the sequel that was initially believed to be Son of Kong.

Now not much is known about this expected film, but it will likely be a direct sequel to the blockbuster film of 2021. As previously announced, the new human protagonist of the franchise will be Dan Stevens. There are no details on who exactly Stevens will play, but he is the only cast member currently linked to the sequel. Godzilla vs. Kong was the fourth MonsterVerse film, which began with Godzilla in 2014 and continued with Kong: Skull Island in 2017 and Godzilla: King of the Monsters in 2019.
