Of the project now in the works, Amazon’s head of global television content, Vernon Sanders, said: “God of War is a compelling franchise and we believe it will captivate our customers from all over the world as much with its expansive and immersive worlds as with its rich storytelling. We are honored to share this explorative adventure of the God of War mythology on a such massive scale with Sony Pictures Television, PlayStation Productions and Santa Monica Studio”.

God of War Series: The Story
The plot of the God of War games revolves around Kratos, a warrior from Sparta and an agent of the Greek god of war, Ares. During his servitude to Ares, Kratos is tricked into accidentally killing his own family. This causes Kratos to be sent by the other Greek gods to kill Ares, leading Kratos to become the God of War. While the first three mainline God of War games and their spinoffs were heavily based on Greek mythology, the 2018 video game God of War followed Kratos years after he left Greece, showing him with a son he lives with. in ancient Scandinavia, where he faces threats from the Norse pantheon of gods.
