As announced by director Chloé Zhao and some online leaks, Eternals will have two extra credit scenes after the natural conclusion of the film: one positioned in the middle and one right at the end of the long credits. Compared to other films of the MCU, this time the contents of the two short clips are anything but accessories: in fact, in the two scenes important events occur for the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe and totally new and particularly relevant characters are also introduced (whose interpreters are were leaked before the US release).

Eternals Meet Eros And Pip: The Eternals Mid Credit Scene

Located after the first block of credits, the first extra scene of Eternals stars the trio of Eternals who decided to leave Earth and travel on the spaceship repaired by Phastos after the clash with Ikaris, to find the others. Eternals scattered around the worlds and reveal to them the truth about their nature and their true task. Druig, Makkaris and Thena then set out on a journey with the intent of making other Eternals discover that their task is to wait for a planet to develop enough intelligent life forms to nurture a Celestial and give it birth: a process that leads to destruction. of the planet itself.

Eros And Pip

While traveling in space, the three realize that they have lost all contact with Sersi and the companions left on Earth. At that precise moment a light with shades of the rainbow (similar to that generated by the Bifröst in Asgard) illuminates the end of the corridor, from which two creatures emergeA tall young man dressed in breastplate similar to that of the Eternals and his companion, shorter and much more foul-mouthed. The two argue closely with each other while the Eternals look at them in surprise. They introduce themselves: the young man is Eros, Thanos’ brother, while his partner is Pip.

The two teleported to the spaceship to warn the Eternals of an imminent danger that threatens their companions left on earth, Eros comments: Perhaps it refers to the conversation that just took place between Sersi and Arishem?

Eros, also known as Starfox, is the brother of Thanos with a human aspect and a diametrically opposite character: he immediately proves to be accommodating, ironic and extroverted. Playing him is Harry Styles former member of One Direction, now lead singer and actor (we have already seen him in Christopher Nolan’s Dunkirk). The news of his appearance, top secret, was revealed by a leak a few days after its release in the hall.

The other character is Pip the Troll, a being with features similar to those of a troll or an elf, who immediately presents himself as foul-mouthed and lascivious. In the world of comics he is the travel companion of Adam Warlock, whose presence should already be confirmed in the third Guardians of the Galaxy movie.

Dane Whitman’s Sword

Just as he is about to touch the object, a voiceover asks Dane: Are you sure you want to do this, Mr. Whitman? It is not known who spoke, but the voice seems to be that of Samuel L. Jackson.

The sword is the one that belongs to the Dark Knight, hero of the Marvel universe that Kit Harington should play in his next appearance of the MCU films.

Druig, Thena and Makkaris are joined on the Eternals’ spaceship by Eros and Pip. The first, who introduces himself as Thanos’ brother, warns them that “their friends are in serious trouble”. 

Dane Whitman opens a chest containing a long double-handled sword with a very black blade. The sword seems to react to his presence. just as he is about to touch her, Dane is stopped by a voiceover saying: 

Are you sure you want to do it, Mr. Whitman?
