Duranga 2 Review and Analysis
Duranga means a person who is living a double life. Gulshan Devaiah had a double character in the first season of this series. Now actor Amit Sadh has entered the second season. It depicts the characters of Gulshan Devaiah and Amit Sadh who are leading a double life. Answers to many questions which remained incomplete in the first series will now be found in this season. Season two begins with Samit Patel waking up from his coma. This Samit Patel is not Abhishek Banne but the real Samit Patel whose character was played by Amit Sadh. As soon as Samit Patel comes back from a coma. Meanwhile, another murder takes place and the Mumbai Crime Branch officials are alarmed because this murder is similar to the serial murders that took place in Sarangwadi.
Abhishek Banne has his past and is living under the name of Samit Patel. His wife Inspector Ira Jaikar Patel is unaware of her husband’s past. In the first season, it was shown that a case comes into the life of Ira Jaikar Patel, who she suspects has some connection with her husband. Abhishek Banne wants to live with his identity, but until his father Bala Banne’s accomplice is caught, he is forced to live with Samit Patel’s identity. Amit Sadh’s entry has done the work of making the second season the most exciting. Amit Sadh has played this role very well as a person who was in a coma for 14 years and is also mentally ill to a great extent. His character keeps Duranga Season 2 interesting from the first scene to the last. New layers of thrill open up under the direction of Rohan Sippy.
When the audience thinks that things are getting normal and better in the lives of Ira and Abhishek Banne/Sammit (Gulshan Devaiah), the entry of the real Sammit Patel (Amit Sadh) creates chaos. After this, there is constant excitement in the story as to what will happen next. Duranga also lifts the curtain on Abhishek Bane’s father, his brutal murders, and his secrets. Which makes it easier to understand the story. Both Sammit and Abhishek have a connection with the life of serial killer Bala Banne (Zakir Hussain). The eight episodes of the new season are successful in keeping the audience engaged. This is one of the best performances of Amit Sadh to date. There are such layers in his character that at some places you will hate him, but at other times you will also sympathize with him. Gulshan Devaiah and Drishti Dhami shine in their roles. Both have maintained consistency in their performance in season one.
Gulshan seems like a normal person as a father and husband, but as soon as he connects with his past, his complexion changes. The writing of the series is great and can be felt at every level. Along with the story-screenplay, the graph and dialogues of the characters are also proof of this. Duranga 2 remains recorded in memory. If you are fond of thriller content, then you must watch this series. Director Roshan Sippy is also a film director and his style of work shines through in the series. However, in some parts, you may feel that things are being dragged on. But this does not diminish the mystery and thrill of the story. If you watched the previous season, there’s certainly no reason to skip the second one. But if you have not seen the first season, then definitely watch it before Duranga 2. This web series is overall interesting and will remain recorded in your memory after watching.
In the second season of the web series Duranga 2, all the actors have tried to give their hundred percent. Amit Sadh has nailed the case this time, Gulshan Devaiah has also looked very effective in the roles of Abhishek Banne and Samit Patel. As comfortable as he is as a father and husband when he is in search of his father’s partner, he appears to have a different side. Drashti Dhami has looked equally powerful in the role of a police officer and has shown different shades of acting in the role of an ideal wife and mother. Zakir Hussain as Bala Bane, Abhijeet Khandkekar as crime reporter Vikas Sarode, Divya Seth as Anupriya Patel, Rajesh Khattar as Dr. Manohar Patel, and Barkha Bisht as Prachi Bane with their respective characters. Complete justice has been done. The cinematography, editing, and background score of the series is also good.
Duranga 2 Review: The Last Words
The second season of Duranga has eight episodes. Rohan Sippy has been a master of thrillers. He has already shown his skills on the big screen, too he maintains the level of thrill from the first to the last episode. Charudatt Acharya has to be appreciated for the good consistency in his writings. Whenever it seems that the case is solved, then the matter gets more complicated and the thrill of watching the series remains. Every episode of this series is also shown connected to the first season. If the audience has not been able to watch the first season for some reason, then they can understand the story from this series. Charu has given life to the script and dialogues of the Korean show ‘Flower of Evil’ in a completely desi style.
