For the moment, the one regarding the duration of Dune Part 2 would only be an indiscretion, but the fact that it has been confirmed by authoritative publications such as Collider makes it rather reliable. The primary source, reshared by a user on X, is the Japanese Film Classification and Rating Organization’s dedicated sheet for the film. A few months ago, another rumor circulated that spoke of an even longer duration of around 3 hours and 15 minutes referring to the not-yet final editing of the film.

Dune: Part Two The Story Plot
Dune: Part Two explores the mythical journey of Paul Atreides as he joins Chani and the Fremen on the path of revenge against the conspirators who destroyed his family. Faced with the choice between the love of his life and the fate of the known universe, Paul embarks on a mission to prevent a terrible future that only he can predict. Villeneuve directed the film from a screenplay co-written with Jon Spaihts, based on Herbert’s novel. The film is produced by Mary Parent, Cale Boyter, Denis Villeneuve, Tanya Lapointe, and Patrick McCormick. Executive producers are Josh Grode, Herbert W. Villeneuve reunites with the Dune filmmaking team of Oscar-winning director of photography Greig Fraser, Oscar-winning production designer Patrice Vermette, Academy Award-winning editor Joe Walker, Oscar-winning visual effects supervisor Paul Lambert, and Oscar-nominated costume designer Jacqueline West. The soundtrack is also composed in this second chapter by Oscar-winner Hans Zimmer. Dune: Part Two was filmed in Budapest, Abu Dhabi, Jordan, and Italy. The film will be released in theaters on March 1, 2024, distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures.
