Downton Abbey: A New Era: Release Date and Poster Out Also Hugh Dancy and Dominic West in The Poster

The poster for the upcoming film Downton Abbey: A New Era, offers a first look at the new cast members, Hugh Dancy and Dominic West. The film, a follow-up to the first Downton Abbey film of 2019, will hit theatres later this year and comes from the show’s original creator, Julian Fellowes, who is also the screenwriter of the new film. Downton Abbey: A New Era is directed by Simon Curtis, will follow the Crawley family and their staff as they travel to the south of France to an unexpected new mansion inherited by the widowed Countess.

Downton Abbey A New Era Release Date

Focus Features has now released an official poster for Downton Abbey: A New Era, which reveals the first official look at Dancy (Hannibal) and West (The Affair). The poster also shows the pillars of the Crawley family, including Maggie Smith‘s Violet (Widow Countess of Grantham), Hugh Bonneville’s Robert (Earl of Grantham), Elizabeth McGovern’s Cora (Countess of Grantham) and Laura Carmichael’s Lady Edith Crawley among many others.

Downton Abbey: A New Era Release Date

It appears that West plays a 1920s Hollywood silent movie star and Dancy plays a director. Along with Dancy and West will also join the cast   Laura Haddock (White Lines), Nathalie Baye and Jonathan Zaccaï. Returning characters from the inside staff include Jim Carter, Brendan Coyle, Joanne Froggatt, Robert James-Collier, Lesley Nicol, Phyllis Logan, Sophie McShera, Michael Fox, Kevin Doyle and Raquel Cassidy. Downton Abbey: A New Era will be released in theaters on May 20, 2022.
