Doctor Who: David Tennant Is Featured In New Trailer For The 60th Anniversary Specials Watch
The 2023 Doctor Who special that will feature the return of David Tennant and the debut of Ncuti Gatwa in the role of the Doctor won a new trailer this Sunday (25). In addition to the duo, the special also features Neil Patrick Harris and the return of Catherine Tate as Donna, one of the Doctor’s most famous companions in the Tennant era who also makes her return in the special episodes. Tennant, who lived in the 10th incarnation, will assume the mantle of the protagonist of Doctor Who for three special episodes released in November 2023. In these, he will again be accompanied by Catherine Tate as Donna Noble and will meet Wilfred, played by the recently deceased Bernard Cribbins. “David Tennant, formerly known as the 10th Doctor, is now also known as the 14th Doctor. Confused? Don’t worry, he’s baffled too,” the BBC said in a statement. Gatwa comes on the heels of Tennant’s specials as the 15th Doctor and is the first black actor to take on the role.

The next season will have Neil Patrick Harris as a new cast member. Russell T. Davies will serve as the showrunner. Doctor Who accompanies a time-traveling alien known only as the Doctor who, always accompanied by a human, uses his ship in the form of a telephone booth, the TARDIS, to go to different planets and times and save the universe from different enemies and dangers. As one of his characteristics, the character has a regenerative ability that generates a new body when he is about to die. As a result, different actors have played the Doctor over the years.

Davies was responsible for the revival of Doctor Who in 2005 and is responsible for expanding the series to popularity beyond the United States. He left the series in 2009 but now returns for the series’ 60th anniversary, no doubt planning special celebrations. Doctor Who returns in November 2023. As of this year, the series will also be distributed by Disney in other territories outside the United Kingdom.
