Disney Plus Day: All the Marvel TV Series Coming In 2022/2023 Release Date List

November 12, 2021, Disney Day Plus took place or a day of celebration for the streaming service that turns 2 years old but above all for Marvel fans who were able to witness the announcement of several TV series that will be released in the next two years (barring unforeseen circumstances). In addition, a 14-minute promotional video has been released on Disney+ to remember the Marvel series of 2021, including the upcoming Hawkeye and some of the new releases.

Moon Knight

Moon Knight is a live-action series in 6 episodes that was announced in 2019 and which will debut in 2022. As for the cast, the starring role or that of Marc Spector / Moon Knight was given to Oscar Isaac, while the villain (whose name has not yet been revealed) will be played by Ethan Hawke. Actors Gaspard Ulliel and May Calamawy are part of the cast but in unknown roles. The direction of the first two episodes will be signed by Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead, the screenplay is instead of Jeremy Slater.

Agatha: House of Harkness

The live-action TV series Agatha: House of Harkness is a spin-off of the Wanda Vision series (already available on Disney+). The show was announced as a dark comedy with the character of Agatha Harkness at the center. Jac Schaeffer, after the experience of Wanda Vision, will return as executive producer and screenwriter. Actress Kathryn Hahn will return as the witch.

Spider-Man: Freshman Year

Spider-Man: Freshman Year is an animated series that will narrate the early school years of Peter Parker aka Spider-Man. It has not yet been made official who will voice the main character: whether Tom Holland (who is Spider-Man in the MCU films) or for example Hudson Thames, who voiced Spider-Man in the animated series What If…? Spider-Man: Freshman Year will be written and produced by Jeff Trammel.

Ironheart

The live-action series Ironheart will consist of 6 episodes and will tell the adventures of teenager Riri Williams, who will be played by Dominique Thorne. This character will make his debut in the film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever due out in theaters in 2022.

Echo

The live-action TV series Echo will tell the adventures of Maya Lopez or a deaf Native American played by actress Alaqua Cox. The show is a spin-off of the Hawkeye series (debuting November 24, 2021).

Marvel Zombies

One of the episodes of the animated series What If …? most popular with fans was the one dedicated to the zombie apocalypse. Here is therefore announced the animated series Marvel Zombie, but at the moment it is not known this will be a spin-off of What If …? or a series with the same characters or something totally new.

Secret Invasion

Secret Invasion is a live-action series that will feature the Skrulls already seen mainly in Captain Marvel. The series is already in production and will debut in 2022 with a cast led by Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Ben Mendelsohn as the leader of the Skrull Talos and also in undisclosed roles Kingsley Ben-Adir, Olivia Colman, Killian Scott, Christopher McDonald, Carmen Ejogo and Emilia Clarke.

I am Groot

I am Groot is an animated series of shorts announced in 2020. The show will tell the adventures of little Groot seen in the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 movie.

Ms. Marvel

The live-action series Ms. Marvel will consist of 6 episodes and will narrate the adventures of the young Kamala Khan or a Muslim teenager who grew up in New Jersey. The leading role was entrusted to Iman Vellani. The cast also includes Aramis Knight as Kareem / Red Dagger, Saagar Shaikh as Kamala Amir’s brother, Rish Shah as Kamran, Matt Lintz is Kamala’s best friend Bruno Carrelli, Zenobia Shroff is Kamala’s mother Muneeba, while the father is Yusuf played by Mohan Kapur. In roles not yet revealed are Yasmeen Fletcher, Laith Nakli, Azhar Usman, Travina Springer, Nimra Bucha, Alyy Khan and Alysia Reiner.

The show created and written by Bisha K. Ali, directed by Adil El Arbi, Bilall Fallah, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy and Meera Menon will debut on Disney + in the summer of 2022. It is important to remember that Kamala Khan will appear in the sequel to Captain Marvel or in the film titled The Marvels to be released in theaters in 2022.

She/Hulk

She/Hulk is a 10-episode live-action series first announced way back in 2019. The show set as a legal-comedy stars Jennifer Walters, who will be played by Tatiana Maslany. This character is the cousin of Bruce Banner / Hulk, who will also be in the series with the face of Marc Ruffalo. The cast also includes Renée Elise Goldsberry as Amelia, Josh Segarra and Ginger Gonzaga in roles not yet revealed, while Jameela Jamil will be the villain Titania. Tim Roth – after the 2008 film The Incredible Hulk – will reprise the role of Emil Blonsky/Abomination.

X-Men’97

X-Men ’97 is the animated sequel / revival of the mutant series that aired in the 1990s through to 1997. Disney + has already confirmed the return of Cal Dodd as Wolverine, Lenore Zann as Rogue, George Buza as Beast, Adrian Hough as Nightcrawler, Christopher Britton as Mr. Sinister, Catherine Disher as Jean Gray, Alison Sealy-Smith as Storm and Alyson Court as Jubilee. The “old” cast is joined by new voices including those of Jennifer Hale, Anniwaa Buachie, Ray Chase, Matthew Waterson, JP Karliak, Holly Chou, Jeff Bennett and AJ LoCascio.

Director Larry Houston and screenwriters Eric and Julia Lewald from the original series will return to work on the new episodes, which will be available on Disney + in 2023.

What If …? Season 2

The second season of the animated What If …? will consist of 9 episodes, but it is not yet known when it will air.

The Guardian of The Galaxy: Holiday Special

Guardians of the Galaxy Holiday Special will be a special in live-action format that will be set after Thor: Love and Thunder and before Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. The cast confirms Chris Pratt as Peter Quill / Star-Lord, Dave Bautista in the role of Drax, Bradley Cooper will voice in the original Rocket Raccoon, Karen Gillan in the role of Nebula, Pom Klementieff in those of Mantis and Vin Diesel will still be the voice of Groot in the original version.

Loki Season 2

Nothing is known yet about Loki’s second live-action season which was confirmed simultaneously with the end of the first. Almost without a doubt Tom Hiddleston will return in the main role and Sophia Di Martino in those of the Loki Variant.

Armor Wars

Armor Wars is a live-action series starring James Rhodes aka War Machine, which will be played by Don Cheadle. The series will look at what happens when Tony Stark’s technology falls into the wrong hands. Yassir Lester will sign the script.
