Day Shift: A First Look At The Netflix Vampire Movie Starring Jamie Foxx | Netflix Geeked Week 2022
Netflix has unveiled the first official look at the horror thriller with Jamie Foxx Day Shift, releasing an action-packed and trivia-packed BTS+ trailer video from behind the scenes. The film stars Foxx as a dad who uses his job as a janitor as a cover for his real job: the vampire hunter.

On the occasion of Geeked Week – the online event dedicated to all Netflix news – the streaming service has released a video that offers a preview look at the making of the horror thriller starring Jamie Foxx, here in the unedited role of a vampire hunter.
Day Shift is just the latest collaboration between Jamie Foxx and Netflix, following the 2020 sci-fi action movie Project Power and the 2021 comedy series Dad Stop Embarrassing Me! Although the latter garnered mostly negative reviews and was canceled after just one season, the former received quite positive reviews, both from critics and audiences, making it the most-watched movie streaming in its first two weekends and the 12th most viewed the streaming title of the year. Foxx for Netflix will also star in the sci-fi comedy They Cloned Tyrone, opposite John Boyega and Candyman star Teyonah Parris.
Day Shift Release Date
The development of Day Shift was first announced in late 2020 when Foxx signed the contract to star and executive produce the horror thriller. JJ Perry is making his directorial debut, having made a name for himself as second unit director and stunt coordinator in F9: The Fast Saga, The Fate of the Furious, and the John Wick films. The script is written by Tyler Tice and Shay Hatten, former co-writer of Zack Snyder’s Army of the Dead. After nearly two years of development and filming, the film is ready to debut on Netflix, where it will arrive on August 12, 2022.
Day Shift Star Cast
The film will see the cast, in addition to Jamie Foxx himself, also Dave Franco, and Snoop Dogg engaged in the hunt for vampires. And then again there will be Scott Adkins (Accident Man), Meagan Good (Monster Hunter), Karla Souza (How to Get Away with Murder), Eric Lange (Narcos), Zion Broadnax (Holly Day), Natasha Liu Bordizzo (The Society), Oliver Masucci (The Swarm), Steve Howey (Shameless) and CS Lee (Dexter). JohJohnck movie director Chad Stahelski will produce the feature along with 87Eleven Entertainment’s Jason Spitz, Impossible Dream Entertainment’s Shaun Redick,d Yvette Yates Redick. Foxx, Datari Turner, and Peter Baxter will be executive producers.
