After a comedy film like Ante Sundaraniki, Nani came up with a complete contrast look to Dasara. Chunky’s Angilesi song went viral, Nani’s new look was exciting, and the trailer gripping, so expectations were created. After SS Rajamouli’s film ‘Makkhi’, Nani, the natural star of South Cinema, has once again come in front of the Hindi-speaking audience through his film Dasara. One of the most popular films of SS Rajamouli, Eega was released in Hindi as Makkhi in the year 2012. By the way, Nani is very popular among the viewers who watch South’s dubbing movies on TV. Shahid Kapoor’s film Jersey was a remake of his grandmother’s Telugu film of the same name.

Dasara Movie Review: The Story Plot

The story of the film Dasara is from Veerlapalli village of Godhwarikhani. Where people keep drinking. His life is miserable without alcohol. And work in the coal mine and for this, they feel that it is necessary to drink alcohol. Three friends Dharni, Suri, and Vennela live in the same village. Dharni and Suri both love Vennela. Dharni finds out that her friend Suri is also in love with Vennela, so she sacrifices her love for the sake of her friend. Politics is also happening between two groups in the village. Because of this, how the life of these three changes, and how Dharni finds her love, is the story of the film.

The story opens in the background of the Singareni coal mines in a town called Veerlapalli in the 1990s. There are friends of Dharani (Nani), Suri (Dixit Shetty), and Vennela (Kirti Suresh). There is a place called Silk Bar in that town. It is a custom for all the men in the village to drink there. Local politicians are playing with their lives. In this background, the film is about how the story of the three took turns. The role may be new to me but not to the audience. However, he showed talent in his style. In this regard, it can be frankly appreciated. Keerthy Suresh is also a highlight. It seems that she has done a great job in the role of Vennela and has done better than the heroines who have done this type of role in the past.

Kannada actor Dixit Shetty as the hero’s friend and Malayalam actor Tom Chacko as the villain is part of the pan-India formula, but many actors in Telugu can show that level of acting talent. These actors should also be commended for making the most of their opportunity. Samudrakhani was given a new look but not a great role. As long as Saikumar’s role is long, it doesn’t matter. Jhansi has done a good job fitting into the role with ease. No matter how many opportunities come her way, she never disappoints. She has a lot of scopes to go to the top level as a character actor.

Dasara Movie Review and Analysis

In the last few years, ever since the films of the South have started being dubbed and released at all Indian levels and started getting success, since then every big star of the South has started feeling that they should take a dip in this flowing Ganga. Perhaps under this thought, Nani also thought of releasing his film Dasara at the Pan India level and went to many Hindi-speaking cities to promote it. It is said that he also released the Hindi trailer of the film in Lucknow, the capital of Uttar Pradesh. Now the question arises whether this film will be able to create magic like dubbed Hindi versions of ‘Baahubali’, ‘KGF’, ‘Pushpa’ and ‘Kantara’ because after watching this film it seems that its makers ‘KGF’ and ‘Kantara’ Bring Pushpa’s cocktail.

Dasara is the debut film of the film’s director Shrikant Odela. The film has been unable to take the film in the right direction due to making a cocktail of the liquor trade, village politics, caste, friendship, and love story. When the entire team of film came to Mumbai for the music launch of Dasara, Nani said that the film is set in a rural setting, so everyone’s costumes in the film are similar to ‘Pushpa’. While watching the film, he keeps remembering the same thing again and again. Sharad Kelekar, who was dubbed for Prabhas in Hindi in ‘Baahubali’, has dubbed for Nani in the film. But Sharad Kelekar’s voice does not fit the character of Nani in the film. This is the weakest link in the film. Although, from dress to body language, Nani has tried to be very careful in the role of Dharni. Nani’s action avatar in the film is worth watching. The film’s heroine Keerthy Suresh, and Dixit Shetty have also done a great job.

The highlight of this movie is the BGM. This department is credited with keeping even ordinary stories at a higher level. Camera work and digital toning can also be said Well. The main minus is the story. As the story progresses, you get a sense of deja vu that you have seen something like this somewhere. Not one, not two, the spirit of many movies is seen in this. A bit inspired by “Rudraveena” in the ending scene, like all the rivers meeting in the sea, many stories of movies flowed in a stream and met in this Dasara. Remembered the ocean…the main track in this is also seen in “Mahasamudram” with Siddharth and Sharwanand. Thus, it seems that not only hit movies but also flops are not left behind for inspiration.

There is a good thing about the director. He learned how to show the story on screen technically and how to impress with sound. If he can put the same passion and penance into the stories, he can give a new feeling. What “Dasara” lacks is that novelty. The interval bang, twisting the first part in the second half is good. But if you don’t give a big twist in the climax, it won’t feel like a great movie. That’s where “Rangasthalam” scored. A plain predictable climax made this Dasara miss the mark. The grip in the opening scene, the lack of novelty in the first song, and as mentioned above the interval bang are good but the second half of the film is flat.

“Chunkyla Angilesi” which was supposed to be a great song, seems to have been revealed in the video. Usually, while the hero and heroines are singing, the chorus steps silently behind them. In this the reverse. Nani and Keerthy dance without a lip moment while the group dancers are singing behind. Because of that, the expectations placed on this song have been shattered. A greeting card appears in a flashback scene saying “1995 Happy New Year”. Later in a scene, Nani tells Keerthy that 15 years have passed. That is, according to the film’s calculation, the story on the screen should be 2010. But those records are not found anywhere. The silk Smitha bar reminding the 1980s, and some traditions reminding the 1950s (by 2010 these are not even in the villages. Evidence can be shown that it happened somewhere. But the point here is that the viewers will not find it convincing), the story of 2010 but no mobile phones are seen anywhere are odd. As a story, it is a revenge drama. But if you want to see Nani, who looks rough in a raw and rough ambiance, in a story that is a combination of various movies, you can watch it. Apart from that, it doesn’t feel as festive as the title suggests.

Dasara Movie Review: The Last Words

This film is a completely typical South Indian film. There is a tremendous action scene in the entire film, in which a lot of hard work has also been done. However, some actions look gruesome. The director of the film Shrikant Odela has tried to make a good film, but he needed to work a little more on the story and screenplay of the film. Those expressions do not come out in Nani’s emotional scene, the reason for this is the heavy voice of Sharad Kelekar. In the Hindi belt, the film Dasara has been released along with Ajay Devgan’s film ‘Bhola’, both of them are full of action, everything else is marginal in this too.
