Netflix took us by surprise by announcing that Cowboy Bebop , its new live action series based on the popular anime by Shinichiro Watanabe, will premiere on November 19 . Thus, adaptation will be one of the platform’s great bets to close the year. Taking advantage of such an important announcement, Netflix shared the first images of the production, in which we can finally see the main characters.
While the expectation that exists for Cowboy Bebop is quite a lot, it is also true that not all anime fans trust the Netflix series. Adapting a work of this type, especially when it is a production with real actors, will always bring controversy. Many think that Cowboy Bebop should remain linked to animation, however, Netflix is confident of offering a faithful adaptation that not only satisfies fans, but also new audiences.

The official launch on Netflix of the series freely from the anime of the same name signed by Shinichirō Watanabe has been set for November 19, 2021, and for the occasion the streaming giant has also released the official synopsis and the very first photos.

“Based on the worldwide phenomenon of Sunrise Inc., Cowboy Bebop is a series that mixes several genres, in the manner of jazz music. It tells the story of Spike Spiegel, Jet Black, Faye Valentine and Radical Ed, an anarchic group of bounty hunters. fleeing their pasts while chasing the most dangerous criminals throughout the solar system. They could even save the world … at a good price, “says the synopsis provided by Netflix.
The first season will consist of ten episodes and will tell the story of Spike Spiegel, the bounty hunter leading a group of rebels and outcasts with whom he crosses the solar system. The series is a co-production between Netflix and Tomorrow Studios. Christopher Yost is the author and executive producer of the first episode.
Cowboy Bebop is showrunners by André Nemec and Jeff Pinkner, while Christopher Yost (Thor: Ragnarok) took over the script. The first season will consist of 10 episodes, whose direction will be shared between Alex Garcia Lopez (The Witcher) and Michael Katleman Life on Mars). For its part, the executive production is provided by Marty Adelstein, Becky Clements, Yasuo Miyakawa, Masayuki Ozaki, Shin Sasaki, Tetsu Fujimura and Matthew Weinberg.
