Control Z Season 2 Review: An Addictive Edge-Of-The-Seat Teen Thriller Aside From Its Plot Is The Forged

If there is a specific target to which Netflix pays particular attention, always allocating a large number of products designed ad hoc, it is undoubtedly that of adolescents and young adults. After the three films in the Fear Street series, which for us last month were a really pleasant discovery, and in anticipation of the series and feature films that will arrive in the coming months (including the highly anticipated Stranger Things 4), the streaming giant has made available the second season of the Mexican teen series Control Z, openly inspired by products much loved by this type of public such as Gossip Girl, Veronica Mars and the Spanish Elite. As we will see in this Control Z 2 review, also the second tranche of episodes of the series created by Carlos Quintanilla tries to refer to these successful models, but it is a bit repetitive and decidedly less intriguing than the previous one.

What made the first season an entertainment product at least engaging here struggles to emerge, not even being driven by the sense of novelty that permeated the first chapter. The series is entertaining, yes, but after losing the attractiveness of the novelty, it is decidedly poor in content and flaws in superficiality when touching on important ideas (from the discovery of one’s sexuality to the use of drugs, from mental illness to the much central bullying)

Review and Analysis

This series advantages from three essential factors: good character development, performance, and intrigue. Although the characters don’t precisely break new floor by way of look and tone, all of them look and sound like folks you’ve met or can connect with. And who is aware of, perhaps you’ll see somebody with a character much like yours or you possibly can see a tiny little bit of your self in every of the characters.

Since the second season ends on a cliffhanger, the series is perhaps renewed for a third season again.
