Chosen Ending Explained: Are The Aliens Gone?

Emma allows Adrian to transport her to that fluorescent dreamscape she briefly appeared in when Hans installed the orb in her neck. Adrian psychologically advises Emma to go to the place where her family gathers, hoping that he will see her there.

Given how Lukas has behaved throughout the season, it’s really no surprise that he’s the bad guy. When Emma returns home, she finds Lykke dead and Lukas waiting for her, though she is able to escape. While Astraeus’ henchmen occupy Lukas, Emma flees to where Adrian told her to meet them and finds the mothership there. Everyone connected is patiently waiting to leave.

  1. I don’t believe Lukas IS a “bad guy”. I think we were led to believe that towards the end, but it just doesn’t ring true to me after observing him all the way through the show. He was the one who told Emma not to let other people tell her who she was or what she should do. Why would a bad guy give a teenage girl that sort of advice? There are other reasons why I don’t buy into Lucas being a bad guy, but I guess we’ll find out if we get a season 2 (please, Lord, let us get a season 2).
