Bridgerton Season 3: Revealed The Cast Of The Third Season Of The Netflix Series

Bridgerton Season 3 has its protagonists, while a change of actresses has recently been announced for the character of Francesca, with the baton passing from Ruby Stokes to Hannah Dodd. The news came during a Netflix event – the FYSEE – and Nicola Coughlan made the revelation. The first two seasons of the series followed the order of Julia Quinn’s books: the first revolved around the love affairs of Daphne Bridgerton and the Duke of Hastings Simon Basset, while the second centered on the story between Anthony Bridgerton and Kate Sharma. Bridgerton Season 3 will take a different path than the order of books, moving the timeline forward to the fourth novel.

Penelope and Colin Cast of Bridgerton Season 3!

Julia Quinn’s third book focuses on Benedict Bridgerton’s love life, while the protagonists of Bridgerton 3 – as also reported by Dealine and Variety – will be Penelope and Colin. At the end of the FYSEE panel dedicated to the TV series, Nicola Coughlan was asked if Lady Whistledown could reveal some anticipation on the third season. The actress, who plays Penelope Featherington (whose alter ego is Lady Whistledown), has revealed that the third season’s episodes will revolve around her character and that of Colin (Luke Newton). We will therefore follow the story of their friendship as it transforms towards something romantic that could potentially dent the balance of Penelope’s double life as Lady Whistledown.

“Just like Lady Whistledown, I had to keep it a secret for a long time and now I can confirm to all of you that the third season will be dedicated to the love story between Penelope and Colin,” Coughlan revealed. “I’ve been keeping this secret since Season 2 and this is the first time I can reveal it. As mentioned above, the Polin love story is at the center of Julia Quinn’s fourth book but this isn’t the first time Netflix and Shondaland have taken some liberties on the source material. For example, the identity of Lady Whistledown was revealed already at the end of the first season, while in the novels the secret is dissolved in the book dedicated to Penelope.
