Who Discovered Lady Whistledown/ Penelope’s Identity?

Throughout the second season, Penelope tries to hide her double identity of her from everyone, but above all from the intelligent Eloise, still determined to find out who is hiding behind her the queen of London gossip.
The young Bridgerton household realized that her best friend is actually Lady Whistledown when she watched her step aside during the Featherington dance and gossip about those present using the same witty and mischievous language of the mysterious figure.
So Eloise went to Penelope’s room, discovering her writings and a secret stash of money. The two have a bitter quarrel in which the young Bridgerton accuses her friend of ruining her life and that of others through her words. The two blame each other for their worst malice: Eloise cruelly mocks Penelope for her cowardice in hiding a false name behind her; Pen replies that Eloise is actually jealous because she has discovered she has a talent for writing. At that point there is a deep fracture between the two: Eloise breaks their friendship and declares that she never wants to talk or see Penelope again.
