For the Sharma family, Anthony is perfect, but Kate is not of the same opinion. Between the two, in fact, a sort of mutual intolerance soon emerges. Over time, however, this feeling turns into desire. Both, however, are not willing to retrace their steps: the only possible couple is that between Bridgerton and Edwina, so much so that the Viscount eventually asks the young woman to marry.
Everything is then ready for marriage. Except that, right at the altar, the youngest of the Sharma sisters realizes that there is something between Anthony and Kate. At that point she leaves the ceremony mortified. Despite everything, both the Viscount and Kate still aim for the wedding celebration, but Edwina is called out. Unable to resist beyond their feelings and desire, in the end between Anthony and the eldest of the sisters Sharma snaps a passionate kiss, which however cannot have a sequel for both.

Putting together the pieces of the puzzle collected over time, Eloise realizes that her friend Pen is hiding behind Lady Whistledown’s pen. Between the two a strong clash breaks out in private, at the end of which she Eloise makes it clear that she never wants to have anything to do with that of her whom she considered a friend of hers. Having nothing more to lose, Penelope decides to resume writing. A time jump of just over six months, then concludes the story, with the new couple returning from their honeymoon.
The Season 2 finale opens with the Bridgerton and Sharma families, both of whom come under the scrutiny of Ton. No one shows up for the prom the families throw, while the Featheringtons throw the closing prom for the season. The Queen attends as do Anthony and Kate and, seeing the couple so deeply in love, grants them the matriarch’s approval, restoring the families’ status in society.
The end of season 2 of The Bridgerton sends us back six months after the events of the wedding season, with the Bridgertons, the Sharmas and Lady Danbury reunited at Aubrey Hall. Back from their travels together, Kate and Anthony are well and truly in love and no longer need to hide their feelings. The two families come together in a part of pall mall. The fleeting conversation at the end of season 2 reveals that Anthony and Kate are now married and have spent the past six months traveling. Although it doesn’t seem long enough for them to travel to Kate’s native India, their trip seems to have brought them closer. It’s also heartening to see that their argumentative dynamic is also strongly present in their relationship.
In the season 2 finale, Penelope is rejected by Eloise as a friend, which causes her incredible sadness to lose her only friend. To make matters worse, Penelope overhears Colin telling his friends that he would never consider courting her. Heartbroken and alone, the youngest of the Featheringtons takes up the pen again and ends the season by resuming the writing of her acid pamphlet.
