The Cast of Borderlands Movie

The cast is led by Cate Blanchett as Lilith, a notorious outlaw with a mysterious past who reluctantly returns to her home planet of Pandora to find the missing daughter of the most powerful individual in the Universe. Blanchett considered one of the best actresses of her generation, won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in 2005 for her portrayal of Katharine Hepburn in The Aviator, while in 2014 she won the Oscar for Best Actress for Blue Jasmine. She is also known for The Lord of the Rings, Elizabeth, Notes on a Scandal, Elizabeth: The Golden Age, Carol, Tár, Nightmare Alley, and The Curious Case of Benjamin Button.

Borderlands Movie the Release Date of the Film

An Exaggerated Universe that Knows no Limits

Borderlands Movie seems like the last place where you could find the Australian Oscar-winning actress, but then you think of Galadriel from Lord of the Rings and her Hela in Thor: Ragnarok and you know that she will be able to give the best of her acting strength here too.

If the aesthetics and spirit of the trailer communicate fidelity to the original, the little other information available suggests some creative license. We wanted to mix the cards a bit, drawing characters from the various episodes and telling stories that video games haven’t focused on. From this point of view, the first claim of the film, “Chaos loves company”, which we can translate into “The more we are, the better we make trouble”, would not look out of place even in the game. The video game series surpassed $1 billion in profits in 2022, with episode 3 bringing in $14 million in one day on the Epic Games Store, on which it was exclusive at the time. A huge economic success which for its film version allowed it to secure talents of the caliber of Blanchett, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Gina Gershon, and Jamie Lee Curtis for the film.

An Inevitable Film?

To be honest, the style of the saga has always been very cinematic: the first episode also set a precedent for its unique graphic style, while the second opens like a real film and favors big-screen shots during the game. For their part, the Pre-Sequel and episode 3 are quite ambitious and benefit from skillful “direction”, also the result of a constant search for excellence.
