Blade Runner 2099: Amazon Announces The Sequel Series Of The Sci-Fi Saga
Amazon has announced the production of Blade Runner 2099, the series that will serve as a sequel to the cult saga based on the novel by Philip K. Dick The hunter of androids (Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?), Ridley Scott who will be engaged in the project in guise as executive producer with his Scott Free Productions, along with Silka Luisa, screenwriter of the series, Michael Green and Andrew Kosove and Broderick Johson, co-founders of Alcon Entertainment. The two expressed all their enthusiasm by declaring:

Blade Runner 2099: Amazon Announces The Sequel Series Of The Ridley Scott Saga
As the title suggests, the film will be set 50 years after Denis Villeneuve’s sequel, released in 2017. Amazon Studios boss Vernon Sanders assured fans of the sci-fi saga that the series will not disappoint their expectations. . “The original Blade Runner film directed by Ridley Scott is considered one of the greatest and most influential sci-fi films ever and we are thrilled to introduce Blade Runner 2099 to our global Prime Video consumers. Few details are known about the new Amazon Prime Video series, knowing that its plot will be located 50 years after the events that occurred in Blade Runner 2049, the sequel to the original film that was directed on that occasion by Denis Villeneuve. “The original Blade Runner, directed by Ridley Scott, is considered one of the greatest and most influential sci-fi films of all time, and we’re excited to introduce Blade Runner 2099 to our global Prime Video customers,” said Vernon Sanders, head of global television for Amazon Studios.
Adapting Philip K. Dick’s novel Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep?, the first installment of Blade Runner is set in a dystopian 2019 in which synthetic humans known as replicants are bio-engineered by the powerful Tyrell Corporation to work on space colonies. When a fugitive group of advanced replicants escapes back to Earth, a former Blade Runner named Rick Deckard (played by Harrison Ford) reluctantly agrees to hunt them down.
