Bad Boys – Ride or Die: All About the Film, Synopsis, Cast, Trailer and Release Date
The fourth installment of Bad Boys is now titled Bad Boys – Ride or Die. It has been almost three decades, to be exact, 29 years, since the action-comedy Bad Boys directed by Michael Bay. But the passage of time is nothing for Mike Lowrey (Will Smith) and Marcus Burnett (Martin Lawrence), the two detectives of the narcotics division of the Miami police. The two return on their new adventure, the fourth, ready to show that they are fitter than ever, both in terms of physical appearance and action as well as their quips and witticisms. It will be in Bad Boys: Ride or Die, and it has yet to be determined whether this will also be the title with which it will debut among us.
Like the third in the saga, Bad Boys for Life, released in theaters at the beginning of 2020, it will once again feature the duo formed by Bilall Fallah and Adil El Arbi behind the cameras. Both also became, sadly, famous in the summer of 2022 due to the news that Warner had canceled, by surprise, its blockbuster on Batgirl. And also, between one Bad Boys episode and another, they have had time to film and release a more than notable action drama (and in a much more serious tone) about Islamic radicalization and the civil war in Syria titled Rebel.
Bad Boys – Ride or Die: Story Plot
Veteran agents Lowrey and Burnett will find themselves involved in a dangerous mission, where they perform best, which will even cause them to be pursued by their fellow law enforcement officers. After the death of his superior, Captain Howard (Joe Pantoliano), the news says that he was involved in dirty business related precisely to drug cartels. After receiving one last message from Howard, the two rebellious cops will set out to try to clear their former boss’s name and discover what is behind a case that appears to be very complex. The problem will come when the two also fall into the trap of being framed by the dark plot, becoming fugitives.
Cast of Bad Boys: Ride or Die
Will Smith and Martin Lawrence return to their starring roles, in the same way that Vanesa Hudgens continues in the main female role, that of Kelly, a weapons expert in the department, from Bad Boys for Life? The rest of the cast includes Paola Núñez as Captain Rita Secada (also seen in the previous installment), Alexander Ludwig (Bjorn Lothbrok in the Vikings series), Eric Dane (Mark Sloan in Grey’s Anatomy), Ioan Gruffudd (Reed Richards in The Fantastic Four of 2005 and sequel), Tasha Smith (I am Dolemite) or Rhea Seehorn (from Better Call Saul).

In the first trailer released by Sony, it is clear that the two rebellious cops are much more interested in action than dealing with the little problems of family life. You can see it at the beginning of this news. In addition, it features spectacular scenes full of chases and explosions, even on board a plane, and there will be no shortage of dialogues and humorous situations. Some examples are the scene of the attempted robbery in a store or the comments at the end of the trailer about their “soul mates”.

The previous three films have already earned good hauls at the box office. 141.4 million dollars for the first in 1995, 273.3 million for the second in 2003, 426.5 million for Bad Boys for Life in 2020 (and with a final stretch of its commercial career in large theaters that was affected by the start of restrictions due to the pandemic). This fourth installment aspires to no less, which will be released in cinemas on June 7, the same date on which it will arrive in American theaters. And… will it be Will Smith’s first box office success after the Oscars slap?
