Archive 81 Release Date: Here Is Every Single Details and Number of Episodes of Netflix Horror Series
James Wan (The Conjuring, Aquaman) is the executive producer of the horror series Archive 81 based on the podcast of the same genre and name with great repercussion in the United States. It follows and narrates scary and supernatural stories that navigate through rituals and disturbing events related to the functioning of the subconscious.
The new horror fiction stars Mamoudou Athie (Sorry for Your Loss, The Detour) and Dina Shihabi (Altered Carbon, Tom Clancy’s, Jack Ryan) as Dan Turner and Melody Pendras respectively. With an eight-episode first season already confirmed, the Netflix series You will follow in the footsteps of Turner, an activist who gets a mysterious new job that involves restoring an old collection of video tapes from 1994. That will lead to a reconstruction of the work of documentary director Melody Pendras (Shihabi) and an investigation about a dangerous cult. This relationship will drag one of them to commit more to the story of the other character.

Set in the New York City area, the period alternates between the present and the mid-1990s. The podcast launched in 2018 and ran for three seasons.
Athie, who will be the male lead of the series, comes from a recent experience in horror films: Underwater and Black Box, two titles released in 2021, and was part of the anthology made by Blumhouse and Amazon Prime Video. The more “product of the house” touch is given by the director of Stranger Things, Rebecca Thomas, who directed four of the eight episodes of Archive 81. Marc Sollinger and Daniel Powell, creators of the podcast, are also involved in the adaptation and officiate of executive producers.
