Apple Tv+: All Series Coming In March 2022
Dear… Season 2 (March 4)
Released on June 5, 2020, the Dear… docuseries distinguished itself with a first season with a notable emotional charge and engaging storytelling, as well as characterized by an original approach to the documentary genre. Director RJ Cutler wanted to tell the story of ten leading personalities of our times (Spike Lee, Lin Manuel Miranda, Stevie Wonder, Oprah Winfrey, Gloria Steinem, Jane Goodal, Big Bird, Aly Raisman, Yara Shahidi and Misty Copeland), through the letters sent to them by those who – in one way or another – have been helped by their work.
In part, entrusting the reins of the documentary to these people and having the celebrities involved respond by telling crucial events in their lives, helped in the first season to narrow the distance between spectator and protagonists even more , exploring in a careful and sensitive way many important issues, such as racism, grief, violence, environmental protection and other issues that affect many people every day.
As proof that we still have a lot to learn about the faces we see almost every day on TV, in movies or in TV series, Dear… is coming with a second season scheduled for March 4, 2022. RJ Cutler, returning as creator, producer and director, will present nine more celebrities this time, an example for their fans, but also human beings like all of us, with lives studded with obstacles, opportunities, successes and disappointments. In the new season we will find Billy Porter, Malala Yousafzai, Laird Hamilton, Jane Fonda, Viola Davis, Sandra Oh, André Leon Talley, Ava DuVernay and Kareem Abdul-Jabbar.
The Last Days of Ptolemy Gray (March 11)
Ptolemy Gray is an elder who struggles alone with dementia after his family, friends and former caretaker have abandoned him. To take care of him in this difficult moment is the young Robyn, an orphaned teenager who is entrusted with the care of the man. This is the plot of The Last Days of Ptolemy Gray, the drama show that Apple TV+ will offer its subscribers on March 11, starring Samuel Lee Jackson and Dominique Fishback.
The title is taken from the novel by Walter Mosley, who we also find here in the role of executive producer and supervisor, alongside director Ramin Bahrani. The six episodes scheduled for the first season will tell a story of loneliness and pain, but also of affection and trust, of family and memory, feelings that we will be able to experience thanks to the great acting skills of its protagonists.
The Adventures of Snoopy Season 2 (March 11)
On Apple TV+ there will be products for the little ones, a target that even in recent months has been able to count on numerous educational and entertainment titles. In this case, the well-known and beloved Peanuts are about to return, ready to entertain an audience of very young spectators in the second season of The Adventures of Snoopy.
The return of this character – born from the pen of Charles M. Schultz in 1950 – only marks an important continuity between the imagination that fascinated the little ones of that historical period and the young spectators of today, who can enjoy amusing imagery. and stimulating, full of multifaceted and hilarious characters. As in the first season, Snoopy will be accompanied by his longtime friend Charlie Brown and the other Peanuts, with whom he will face many new adventures!
The Problem with Jon Stewart Part 2 (March 17)
To define The Problem with Jon Stewart as simply a “docuseries” would certainly be an understatement. More like a talk show, this show debuted with its first part on September 30, 2021, winning users over. Continued by the author and host Jon Stewart, particularly beloved in the United States, the title tackled global issues at its inception, such as the economy, warfare, the use and trade of arms and the stock market.
On March 17, the series will return with new episodes, during which Jon Stewart will help us to clarify sensitive issues, often difficult to understand. To support him in this ambitious project we will find numerous personalities who live closely the issues addressed in each episode, and who will therefore offer their precious point of view.
WeCrashed (March 18)
If Jon Stewart deals with complex problems, the WeCrashed series will instead tell us the story of a success, that of the WeWork startup. Born to offer shared workspaces, WeWork was founded by friends Adam Neumann and Miguel McKelvey. After reaching the pinnacle of success, however, the company experienced a period of decline when Adam – between exaggerated expenses and crazy ideas – began to manifest a delusion of omnipotence, so much so that he gave up his role as CEO.
The story of the well-known startup has already been told several times by newspaper articles, insights and a hugely successful podcast, WeCrashed: The Rise and Fall of WeWork. However, the series wants to provide an unprecedented point of view to the story, including in the narrative also Adam’s wife, Rebekah. The family context will therefore be the background to this story of successes and failures, of rise and fall, which will be characterized by an exceptional cast. In fact, in the role of Adam and Rebekah there will be Jared Leto and Anne Hathaway, flanked by America Ferrera and OT Fagbenle.
Pachinko – The Korean wife (March 25)
On the Apple streaming platform, family stories continue to be talked about with Pachinko – the Korean wife, a novel by Min Jin Lee whose adaptation was announced by Apple last year.
