Anxious People (Complètement à Cran) is available on Netflix! The series opens with a very unexpected shot of someone committing suicide, but also a deeper plot of the series, which is explored towards the end. Anxious People revolves around a father-son duo of Swedish police officers, Jim and Jack, who carry out their mundane daily job.
Things change in Anxious People when an unusual theft occurs, and a thief wearing a ski mask demands 6500 Kronos from a bank teller. When she realizes that it is a bank without cash, the thief runs away to escape Jack and Jim, before entering an “open house”. Panic seizes the thief, which leads her to point her gun at the people visiting the apartment, then take them hostage.
Anxious People Season 1 Ending Explained
At the end of Season 1 of Anxious People, Jack realizes that all the other hostages have forgotten the eighth person present at the scene, aside from the thief. In a flashback, we see Estelle knows there is food in the fridge and that she knows the perfect place to smoke in the apartment. When she also takes out the wine, Anna-Lena and Julia understand that the apartment belongs to Estelle. Police send the weapon from the crime scene to forensic science, and Estelle’s fingerprints are all over it.
Estelle would make a good thief. She has the balanced character to achieve such a feat. She can lie while keeping a straight face. However, as the series leaves us guessing, the ending of Season 1 of Anxious People reveals that the thief is Liv Holmberg. A divorced and desperate mother of two, Liv would have lost custody of her children if she didn’t have an apartment. So she tried to commit the robbery, but her attempt, as she would later admit while sobbing, was stupid.
The moral of the story is that the key to the next door is still somewhere in the apartment. Estelle tells the story loud and clear, and when she sees Liv in a terrible state, she comes up with an escape plan for the accidental burglar. Taking over, Liv takes the key to the book and hides in the late Klas-Goran’s apartment next door. In the finale, we see Ro and Julia moving into the apartment with Julia’s newborn baby.
Who Jumped Off The Bridge?
Later in the story, it turns out that this person is Estelle’s son, Gustav, who jumped off the bridge. At the end of Season 1 of Anxious People, Jack goes to Zarah’s house to interview him and discovers the letter he had received from Gustav all these years before. The letter was intended for Zarah, who has not yet opened it. But Estelle reveals to Jack at the hairdresser that Gustav was battling terminal cancer.
He did not want to die painfully and slowly and therefore chose a faster descent into the river. The event haunts both Jack and Zarah, and the two eventually grow closer to each other. Zarah begins a relationship with Bunny, while Jack kisses Jill in the hospital. After the overdose episode, Jill may come back to live with the family.
