Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, New Previews and Photos of Kang The Conqueror

Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is hitting theaters worldwide kicking off Phase 5 of the MCU, and new photos and teases have been shared online. Kevin Feige, head of Marvel Studios, has in fact revealed to Empire magazine the reason why the character entrusted to Paul Rudd is chosen to begin the new chapter of the story taken from the comics.

Feige, speaking of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, said: “We wanted to start Phase 5 with Ant-Man because he earned that position. Not only to be a sidekick or to break the tension by being a source of comedy but for him to take his position at the center of the podium for the MCU”.

The first conversation we had was, ‘What if Ant-Man accidentally finds himself in an Avengers movie by himself?’ No longer are we running around the streets of San Francisco. We’re fighting one of the most powerful villains in history and perhaps this is the most unlikely group of Avengers to go against this guy“.

Kang the Conqueror, a role entrusted to Jonathan Majors , wants dominion over everything, in every existing reality because it does not exist in a single universe. Feige explained that the character will even fight against its variants: This is the right choice if you are facing the Multiverse. Kang has allowed us to make a new type of big bad. He is different, he goes to war against himself as much as he is in contrast to our heroes.

The producer added: Kang is a really powerful person, but when we meet him, he’s in a position where he needs to get that power back. He has a spaceship and a machine that allows him to go anywhere and anytime if he wants to if he can get him to go online. If only he had access to the genius scientists with the Pym particles…“.

Majors first met with the Loki series team and then talked about the film, with Alexander the Great as a point of reference. The actor explained, Kang adds diversity in tone, real conflict and real tension. You are introduced to a new vibe in the MCU. There is conflict, not just hand-to-hand, not just between hero and villain, but also ‘your way of life’ and ‘my way of life.’ I’m coming for this, we’re in a battle“.

Empire has also shared the first photo of Quaz, the character entrusted to William Jackson Harper with telepathic powers. In the image, he is portrayed with Jentorra (Katy M. O’Brian), who fights for freedom and against injustice in a tiny metropolis. The two characters appear to help the protagonists in their attempt to escape from Kang.
