The Boston Strangler Plot

The film The Boston Strangler from 20th Century Studios is a crime thriller based on the true story of multiple murderers. The plot of the feature film focuses mainly on the figure of the two journalists who were the first to discover who was behind these crimes.

Loretta McLaughlin played by Keira Knightley is a reporter for the Record-American newspaper. Together with their colleague Jean Cole whose role is covered by Carrie Coon, they dedicate themselves painstakingly to the case of The Boston Strangler and manage to connect it to the first victims. In the sixties in which the events are set, however, women find themselves having to fight against sexism which becomes an obstacle to their profession.

Who is the Boston Strangler?

Known in the registry office as Albert Henry DeSalvo, the Boston Strangler is an unfortunate title that DeSalvo himself obtains because of the case related to his alleged murders. From an early age the serial killer when he was not yet such, is raised in a violent and depraved climate that ends up overwhelming him. In fact, as a teenager DeSalvo began his criminal career with petty theft and torture of animals, to later move on to sexual assault and murder.

At least that’s what DeSalvo has always admitted by pleading guilty to some killings. The Boston Strangler is a serial killer who brutally murdered many women in the 1960s, after raping them several times. DeSalvo provided details, which have never been made public, related to some of these murders. Consequently, only the real murderer can be aware of it.

However, Albert DeSalvo’s DNA has not been detected on all cases of murders attributed to the strangler, just as his profile does not perfectly match that of the killer. The man who, on the other hand, closely resembles the figure of the Boston Strangler is George Nassar. A lifer who was DeSalvo’s cellmate for a time. And that under such circumstances, it is speculated that he may have revealed to the man the details of his never unmasked murders.
