A Good Person: Everything We Know About The New Florence Pugh Upcoming Movie
A Good Person is a new movie Florence Pugh and Zach Braff worked on together, and it could become another hit for the actress. Pugh has just released The Wonder, on Netflix, and Don’t Worry Darling with Harry Styles, but she is always looking for new projects and that led her to be part of the sequel to Dune (where she plays a princess who will be the new romantic interest of Timothée Chalamet’s character), to be part of Christopher Nolan’s Oppenheimer, and to make this new drama where he appears together with a cast of great movie legends.
According to reports, the film was written and directed by Zach Braff, who was a partner of the Oscar-nominated actress, who starred in the series Scrubs. The film was announced in 2021, but Pugh confirmed that they have finished making it, sharing an image where her character can be seen, wearing a different look than what she usually wears. The film (from the creators of the Garden State, where Braff appeared opposite Natalie Portman) is a story of loss, pain, loneliness and death, where Braff shows that sometimes we need the help of others in order to heal and get back on track. A Good Person also has a great soundtrack, or so we can assume by seeing the trailer.
A Good Person: The Trailer
The trailer begins with a narration by Morgan Freeman, who seems to introduce us to what will be the typical romantic comedy, but everything changes quickly, with a car accident that has devastating consequences. Florence Pugh plays a woman who must deal with the consequences of that accident, with the help of a man who is on the same “train” and who can help her find her way out of it.
The first image was just a still from the film, where Pugh appears with short hair and a colorful sweater. Pugh wrote: Our first look at A Good Person directed by @zachbraff… damn Nora I can’t tell you how proud and excited I am for this baby. What is A Good Person About?
The synopsis says that the film follows Allison, played by Pugh, who is part of an accident where, from what we see in the trailer, her partner is killed. This leaves her devastated and leads her to get caught up in a spiral of depression, loneliness and negativity, but she is soon reunited with the man who would become her father-in-law, and he helps her find her way back to a life ” normal” and full. It is a story about death and how the loss of a loved one can affect us, especially when we feel responsible, but also about the possibility of moving forward if we learn to trust the people who want to help.
The Cast Of A Good Person
Florence Pugh stars in the film as a woman named Allison, who suffers a major and tragic loss in her life and is left behind, while the film also relies on Morgan Freeman (aka the voice of god in all documentaries) as her moral guide. Celeste O’Connor, who plays Freeman’s granddaughter, and Molly Shannon, who appears to be the mother of Pugh’s character. Also featured are Chinaza Uche, Zoe Lister-Jones, and Nichelle Hines.
When is A Good Person Released?
The film (from the same studio that brought us Luca Guadagnino and Timothée Chalamet’s Bones and All) will hit theaters in March 2023, although the exact day has not been confirmed.
