‘The Disciple’ is the story of a man named Sharad Nerulkar who devoted his entire life to becoming an Indian classical music singer. This tradition has been going on for a long time in which Sharad keeps following the traditions and discipline of his guru and his father. But as time goes by, Sharad’s mind starts to wonder, with a little surprise, whether it is even possible for him to do the work he is trying to do?

The release of Chaitanya Tamhane’s film The Disciple, which has won acclaim in all four directions, is confirmed. The film has not reached any cinema hall but it has been adopted by an OTT platform. The producer of this film is Vijay Gomber, whose lead role in the film ‘Is Love Enough Sir?’ Is making a boom in the world of digital entertainment these days.

Written and directed by Chaitanya Tamhane, the film is produced by actor and producer, Vivek Gomber and executive produced by Oscar-winner Alfonso Cuarón. The Disciple is set to release on Netflix on the 30th April, 2021. The film also stars Arun Dravid, Sumitra Bhave, Deepika Bhide Bhagwat and Kiran Yadnyopavit in pivotal roles.
