Vikrant Rona Review: The Story

The story is set in the fictional village Kamarottu. This is an era where Hema Malini is already a star, but there is a lack of power. The story begins with a woman and her daughter going to Kamarottu along with her daughter in a car to attend the wedding. On their way, suddenly something collides with the car. Until something is understood, the daughter is killed and hanged on a tree. The story progresses. Many children have been kidnapped and killed in the village. Even the inspector is brutally murdered. In such a situation, there is the posting of new Inspector Vikrant Rona (Kiccha Sudeep). He comes there with his daughter. Meanwhile, Sanju (Nirup Bhandari), the missing son of village headman Janardan (Madhusudan Rao), suddenly returns. Vikrant’s erstwhile inspector has left behind many unexplained clues. How will Vikrant find the killers? What are the reasons behind the murder, this is the secret of this story, which will not be appropriate to tell here.

Anup Bhandari’s fictional story begins with the children telling the story. Then it gives the feel of a supernatural horror thriller. After that, it becomes a mystery. The story is quite scattered before the intermission. It moves at a slow pace. The relationships between the local characters are depicted in a jumbled manner. The story picks up pace after the intermission. From there you can understand in which direction the story is going. Anoop is successful in maintaining the suspense associated with the characters till the end. To reach this mystery, there is also an angle love story in the middle. If there is a love story, it is natural to have songs. Although it seems to be forcibly stuck. No song is remembered except ‘Ra Ra Rakma’. VFX has been used extensively in the film. It is an exciting experience to see the action in this 3D film. However, when the action is full in the climax, there is no 3D experience there. Being a fantasy film, do not try to find logic here.

Vikrant Rona Review and Analysis

There are two types of suspense thrillers. One in which who is the murderer is known and his search goes on. Second, in which the murderer is not known, but there is suspicion about everyone. Arrows are shot in the dark. All the dots are connected and the murderer is found. ‘Vikrant Rona‘ is another kind of suspense thriller. The story is well woven. Anoop Bhandari has molded that story properly in the screenplay as well. Letting go of some aspects, it can be called a tight screenplay. If the songs were a little less in it, the writers would have come back just touching the love angle of Panna and Sanju, or even if they didn’t go to that street, the screenplay would have been rich. The suspense remains throughout the story. Every second scene opens up a new layer of the story. This is a good technique to create thrills. Such films give us a chance to guess the story. ‘Vikrant Rona’ also gives many opportunities to play the guessing game. Except for one place, it performs beyond our thinking. Yes, some things are not understood like Vikram dancing as a Brahmarakshas, there are other two-four aspects but they will come under the category of spoilers.

The film has also been directed by Anoop Bhandari. Anoop presents a fine example of how to direct a suspense thriller. But they too are not able to escape from many types of cleavages. Especially presenting the girl as an object. Meaningless boy singing songs to woo a girl. Showcasing Kicha Sudeep as a larger-than-life hero. The same man is beating 20 men at the beginning of the film and set them aside. In the climax, two men are also getting heavy on him. sad incident. Well, Anoop Bhandari has used darkness and jungle very well to create suspense. About 80 percent of the film takes place in the dark. The low-key lighting has been used brilliantly. The film covers almost all the elements of a good thriller. Eg: Strong openings, multiple points of view, cliffhangers, and bountiful endings.

What to say about the ending? The atmosphere that has been created is amazing. The fighting sequence of the climax is also amazing. After a long time, such an action-packed suspense thriller has been seen, which does not collapse in the end. Its ending raises the level of the film even higher. At one point it seems that some play is going on. Two strangely dressed men, like a demon, pounce on Kicha Sudeep. Ajneesh Loknath’s music plays an important role in this sequence. The background score of the entire film is very good. Anoop Bhandari’s composed lullaby ‘Rajkumari’ is also beautiful. The set design and art direction are excellent. The costume department has also done a great job. Cinematography and editing are the lifeblood of this film. It is said that good editing makes a bad film a good film. This film is already right, good editing makes it a better film.

The burden of this mystery thriller film is on the shoulders of Kichcha Sudeep. Sudeep was earlier seen in the role of a villain in Dabangg 3. His character in the role of Vikrant is fearless. He is like a one-man army capable of bringing many people to mind at once. He is seen in his character. The film stars Jacqueline Fernandez in a guest appearance. He got a chance to show his style in the song ‘Ra Ra Rakma’. Panna turned Neeta Ashok is bold and innocent as per her character. The work of Nirup Bhandari and Child Artist Samhita is remarkable. The duration of the film is 147 minutes. It could have been reduced by removing some unnecessary scenes and songs. However, this suspenseful fantasy had much room to improve if the characters were properly structured.

Vikrant Rona Review: Final Words

Overall, the film could have reached the category of a better film if it had avoided some clichés and stereotypes. This is my opinion. You go and watch the film and form your own opinion. Cinema lovers were expecting a lot from this film of Kannada cinema, but there is a great BGM (background music) and even after the brilliant VFX, the confusing story could not cross the fleet of this film. Yes, this film can be seen 1 time in the hope of the second half. 2.5 stars to this movie from my side.
